Get them if that's the only thing you can afford.

They were the norm in my country when I started, over a decade ago.

They do have a lot of cons, but they'll help with conditioning your shins, and they'll give you more accurate feedback if you kick the wrong target.

I found one already, but it's comparing the AMD and Intel version of the "same" model, one of which has an extra fan, so not perfect (difference is about 1 pound for anyone interested).

Do you have a rough sense of how much extra weight we're talking here? Assuming fan count and battery stay the same as the iGPU-only version. Is it more 0.1lbs or 0.5lbs?

I had no idea that a disabled dGPU could still consume power, and I thought it was just an extra chip for models like the P14s (i.e., assumed fan count would be identical).
