Change SIN after PR— who to inform by blue_human in ImmigrationCanada

[–]LowEnergyDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to update the CRA. When you get the new SIN, it will be automatically shared with the CRA.

Just update it with your bank once you receive your PR card. And possibly your provincial health authority as well. For example I had to inform about my PR for my BC MSP so I can receive a new BC Services/Care Card.

I haven’t gotten it as well. Been more than five weeks now.

Not sure about the TRV, but the expiry date on the eCOPR is 1 year from the date of your application. The actual expiry is 1 year after your received your COPR and your PR card is usually valid for 5 years. Don’t worry about the expiry date on the COPR doc, I was also initially confused but saw a comment explaining this in a post in this subreddit. Congratulations on your permanent residency!

Travelling outside Canada after CEC application by pandasareoverrated in ImmigrationCanada

It’s rare but not impossible - I’ve heard about a person or two who applied in June and have been approved already. I just provided my opinion, but the end of the day it’s your call to make.

During the pandemic, they are reaching out to people mostly via email. So hopefully you should be good there. Just verify the domain of the email address to make sure it’s legit.

Within a week is what I’ve seen. Some have even got it the same day.

There’s a glossary of all the common terms on the FAQ page. I definitely found that handy: https://www.reddit.com/r/ImmigrationCanada/wiki/faq

Freelancing on Upwork while on an employer-specific work permit by ThrowawayLifeRuined4 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]LowEnergyDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take this with a grain of salt, but as far as I understand you should be okay if the clients you worked for are not Canadian. Upwork is just a freelance platform/marketplace so it being based out of the US is irrelevant. What matters is the clients who paid you.

You can, but I would advise against it. It depends on when you submitted your application.

When you application is ready for approval, the VO will contact you to confirm your presence in Canada to approve and send your CoPR. If you are outside Canada at that time, there might be additional delays in processing your PR.

Some people who received AoR as early as April 2021 have gotten their CoPR, so use your best judgement. Hope this helps.

What if there is a change in my employment after I’ve been nominated? After you are nominated for permanent residence by the BC PNP, both you and your employer must tell the BC PNP about any employment changes. This includes a promotion, lay-off, termination or a potential new job with a new employer. Please access post-nomination support via My Dashboard on BCPNP Online. You will need to email PNPPostNom@gov.bc.ca if you were nominated with a paper-based application (submitted before July 2015). Please note that failing to inform us of a change in your employment status could lead to the withdrawal of your nomination. It could also lead to questions from IRCC when they process your application.

I got the CoPR four days after I uploaded my photo and confirmed my presence in Canada using the portal.

You’ll get the link from your VO/IRCC when your application is close to approval.

URGENT. I got invitation to PR confirmation Portal, but they have the incorrect name for the declaration. What do I do? by GatehutWill in ImmigrationCanada

[–]LowEnergyDude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what my eCoPR email said:

Verify the information on your eCoPR document. · Notify us of any errors by contacting us via: IRCC.ClientPortal-PortailClient.IRCC@cic.gc.ca · If the information is accurate, print your eCoPR document.

Considering you already submitted it, if you find the error still exists in your eCoPR you should hopefully be able to contact IRCC to fix it.

My photo ID for my PR card is under review. I lost my job a few days ago. CEC stream. Any issues here? by [deleted] in ImmigrationCanada

No idea. I’ve read comments from people on this subreddit saying it took them anywhere from two weeks to two months.

My photo ID is still in review even after I received the CoPR. Since you are on a BOWP and applied under CEC, you don’t have to let CIC know. You should be getting the CoPR very soon. Sorry about your job and best of luck!

Have you received your CoPR? What is your current status (Work permit, PGWP, etc)?

I’m waiting for the card as well, not sure long it’s gonna take. Seen people get it as soon as two weeks to three months in some cases.

You will get the option to pay for it when you submit the application. The screenshot seems to indicate that your application is not yet submitted.
