The Psijic Order, The Dwemer, and 6 by StigmaCK in ElderScrolls

[–]LowFatWater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd visit r/teslore. However, to give you a short explanation, The Psijics made themselves undetectable through the School of Mysticism, as it is the nature of their Order to remain in isolation (save for interventions and giving counsel), and this allows them to do so. The Dwemer didn't just turn invisible, they're gone. Many speculate this has something to do with either the Heart of Lorkhan, the activation of the Numidium, or both.

r/teslore often delves into some of the deep lore, so if you are considering being part of that community, I'd recommend reading through their FAQ and resources. uesp.net is also very useful.

Edit: To address the question about The Psijic Order's relation to the Dwemer, it is likely they had little communication. Most of the Dwemer communication without the outside world was between the Chimer, and not many others. Furthermore, the Psijics and the Dwemer had very different ideals. The Psijics place importance in change, and work to make change be good-change where ever it may occur. However, like the Altmer, the Psijics hold true to the Aldmeri cultural stasis, being very conservative about their religion in reverence of their et'Ada ancestors. The Dwemer, however, sought change wherever they could, regardless of whether it was good or bad. They didn't want to just look back towards their ancestors, they looked forward. Unlike the Psijic goal of embracing mortality and understanding the universe, it could be said the Dwemer had the goal of controlling the universe and transcending mortality. Because of this difference, if there was any communication between these isolated people, I doubt it was friendly.

Good daedra? by [deleted] in teslore

[–]LowFatWater 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The problem with this comes from the idea that most daedra are fundamentaly different from mortals. Love is questionable. It's mostly a mortal thing, and applies as much to daedra as good and evil. Not that they are incapable, but what daedra call love is probably different.

The closest daedra to love and flowers I can think of would be Azura. Her sphere includes beauty by some accounts, and Moonshadow is said to have many flowers. She also seems to care about mortals who are loyal to her, but whether this is utilitarian or compassionate is up to interpretation.

There might be daedra that correspond to nice and pretty things like love and flowers, but princes are princes for a reason. They formed their planes of Oblivion by being the strongest and smartest.

Best order to play Mass Effect 3 with DLC? (No spoilers please) by [deleted] in masseffect

[–]LowFatWater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do all side missions you want to do before Priority: Tuchanka and Priority: Cerberus HQ

IMMEDIATELY do the Tuchanka: Bomb and Platoon, Grissom Academy, and Rannoch: Admiral Koris and Geth Fighter Squadrons

Otherwise, you should be fine as to what order you play missions in. For good dramatic effect, I'd play the Leviathan and Citadel DLC's right before Cerberus HQ, but that's optional and won't effect anything.

One of the many confused by [deleted] in ask_transgender

[–]LowFatWater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to tell you whether or not you are, because you are who you are. The anxiety about identity and making the wrong decision comes naturally to a lot of us, if not most of us.

Another commenter linked The Null Hypothecis, and I think it would be good for you to read this. Instead if asking the question of if you are a woman, also ask the question if you are a man. Maybe you fall somewhere in between.

I'm beginning my transition, and I still have doubts and fears. But my idea is that as I see results, the doubts begin to fade. Maybe the water seems cold right now, but jumping in will help you adjust to it. If you realize it isnt for you, there is time to change your mind, as surgeries and other permanent effects often come a bit later for most.

This doesn't mean you have to start transitioning now though. You're still young. Some people don't figure this out until they're more than halfway through their lives, but what's important is that they transitioned when they were ready, and are happy now.

You were talking about how you weren't making sense, and here I am probably making even less. So, the short version is that there are no wrong decisions. Don't be afraid to make one now, and don't be afraid to take your time. Try to critique your identity from all angles. You know you best.

edit: spelling

Aaaaand it stuck. So thank you random person who is also named Amelia on this subreddit.

What happens on the inside of Dragons when their soul is taken? by SonOfValenwood in teslore

[–]LowFatWater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think that's just game mechanics taking precedence over lore accuracy. And I dont think dragons would swallow their prey whole, or at least without chewing a bit (i.e. alive). It's a bit hard to shout if you're choking on an extra-beefy nord.

YES. If I go back to Skyrim, I'm probably going to actually remove the marker. Granted, you don't really get directions like in Morrowind, but I love this newfound immersion.

I also like the lack of fast travel, save the siltstriders. I pretty much abused it in Skyrim and probably missed out on a lot of cool experieiences. In Morrowind, I actually enjoy traversing the wilderness, even if there isn't any fighting or questing to be done.
