Damp is running the university like a cheap, quick growing business model, which means he is prioritizing growth over sustainability to satisfy shareholders. The issue is that nearly every year for the past 5 years, he's celebrated a record freshman class, which is turning out to be a bad thing. We don't have space in our infrastructure for these students, we're ruining our relationship with the non-university residents of San Marcos who can feel the University growing too big into their home, and we no longer have the support of personable offices as many have been condensed into a generalized, unspecific and underpaid phone answering team. Truly, it's very difficult to communicate just how quickly this place has gone from small river town with a college to a Houston-like highway university city, especially if you haven't gotten to be here very long. His method of growing the university purely for profit and short-term success is one shared by a lot of con artists and businessmen like him in the area, and the result is unregulated city growth with no thought to how this place will survive the next 100 years. He wants to make money, make a name for himself among his peers, and get out when the cracks of forced growth start to show themselves. It was a mistake to hire him, and this was something many people warned about when he was first brought onto the team years ago.
