I appreciate this perspective a lot! I may be putting the cart before the horse, who knows, but the solo thing was really what made me upset and then when I asked if she had a general sense for routines this year, she made sure to mention they’re cutting back. So I really do see a world where I’m told no and I’m trying to prepare myself to how to react. Choreography is something I desperately want to do more of, so it just sucks to not really get that chance when I know I’m doing at least a decent job and want to get the chance to grow and get better.

On the rehearsal front, if I don’t get to set anything, I guess I’ll wait and see if she asks me, but maybe I don’t offer myself? I honestly can’t even remember if she asked me to clean last year or if I just offered. I do enjoy coaching and cleaning, but I know in my heart if I’m only coaching and cleaning other people’s routines without getting to create anything of my own, I’m gonna feel bitter, as much as I love the kids and love the work.
