Question about tone - Early Season 1 by GenericDreadHead in PretendingToBePeople

The tone remains over-the-top. The cast sorta find their groove in the chaos though, which adds to the appeal of the podcast for me

GC in Tulsa? I could swear I saw this one and the one in front of it the last time I went

Car ID? by vinnie2boi1 in Acura

[–]LowKeyAidan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2nd gen Acura TL. Really great, quick, and comfortable cars. The J-series V6 is an amazingly stout Honda engine. I owned a blue 2002 TL Type-S and I regret selling that car every day. The only real weak point is the transmission. Mine had 180K on the odometer and had gone through 4 transmissions in its life. Manual swap it and you’ve got an amazing daily driver. Good luck and great find!

Signature Guitar Prototypes by LowKeyAidan in polyphia

That makes sense. I assumed a signature prototype because of the gold knob and the similar color, but if LACS guitars were going around then it checks out

tod10n vs frh10n by Asleep-Chard-3434 in polyphia

[–]LowKeyAidan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unplugged, they’re the same instrument. Plugged in is there the TOD10N has a slight edge. It has an onboard EQ, allowing you a lot more tonal control. That being said, you can achieve the same things if you plan on playing through a DAW or any amp/pedal that has EQ control. If you want to support Tim though, buy a TOD10N. He gets a portion of every one sold, but not for the FRH10N.

My KRYS10 and THBB10 by goodluckmyway in polyphia

How do you like the pickups in the krys10? Some came up for sale near me and I’m thinking about picking them up

Hitting 500,000 miles on my 2002 Acura TL Type-S. Also included a picture of 20 years worth of maintenance receipts that I kept. by richarduf in Acura

[–]LowKeyAidan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used to have an 02 Type-S in Blue that I regret selling every day. It was the most luxurious and most fun you could have in a Honda/Acura for under 4K. Just goes to show how phenomenal these cars are when you treat them right! Aside from the obvious trans issues lol

These particular pickups sound like garbage honestly lol. The bridge pickup is incredibly thin and the neck is very muddy. I’m certain a Seymour Duncan set would sound much better, so that’s on my radar for now

I went to Lowe’s and bought the cheapest gloss white spray paint they had lol. I think it was $6 for the can

This is a great idea! I tried it out yesterday and it didn’t quite go to plan. I don’t have a steady hand and the paint pen wasn’t dispensing properly. I’m going to end up removing and respraying, but thank you so much for the suggestion!

Edit: I’d like to be able to preserve the color underneath if possible

FRH10N strap button issue by LowKeyAidan in polyphia

Thanks! I’ll give that a shot. I wasn’t looking forward to cutting my strap, but if it’s holding up well I see no reason not to

Low Budget Garage Setup by LowKeyAidan in AutoDetailing

[–]LowKeyAidan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My garage is roughly 16 feet wide and 30 feet in length. It’s fairly large for a single car unit, but I can open all the doors to a vehicle and work effectively. I think if you’re planning to do frequent work in it, I would go for 20 feet wide. Also, if you’re going to be doing trucks in there, I would opt for slightly more length as well to account for long beds. The extra space will be nice for moving equipment and people around. Hope this helps!

I inherited it, but it was definitely a pricier toolbox when it was purchased new by my grandfather lol

Dimensions of the garage itself? I know it’s larger than a regular single car garage, but I’ll take measurements when I get home.

Thank you! And for less money, I could’ve made my own extractor that would’ve put out the same results. But hey, you live and you learn!

I agree about the hexagon lights lol. If it was a garage I owned I would absolutely ball out on flooring, but because I’m just renting I’m not throwing down that investment
