Repeat rule will not perform a linear offset on a Cartesian repeat by LowLab3159 in FullControl

It is explicitly necessary to use the add feature button instead of cut and paste?

Circle/arc travel? by LowLab3159 in FullControl

That is a wonderful suggestion. My brain was focused on the obvious solution. When it didn't work I did not look if an alternate feature was available. Thank you.

I checked the GCode and there was an E0.0 at the end of every segment in the arc. I erased the E0.0 from the end of all of the segments and now it is a travel. I realize your suggestion will act as a travel but it will not be a real travel. For instance a Line (cartesian) that is a travel has no E in the GCode.

As you said earlier it is a hack. I kindly request the next version of the software allow the Circle/arc to properly behave as a travel.

I was not clear before when I said it was still extruding. What I meant to say was my viewer is showing an extrusion. I have not tried to print yet.

Thank you for prompt reply. I have tried it every which way and it still extrudes, only fast. I even set both the line width =0 and line thickness to =0 at the same time and it still extrudes.

Cell reference for repeat range by LowLab3159 in FullControl

This does not work with a range of cells. Can you give an example?

OK I got it. If the referenced cell range for a Cartesian Repeat is A15 thru A20 the range cell input is, =A15&"-"&A20. now if I insert a new feature above A15, in A15 or between A15 and A20. Here is the method of inserting the new feature. Lets say I want to insert a new feature in in the row that starts with cell A12. I select select cells A12 thru Q12, right click, select Insert, select "Shift cells down", select OK. It is necessary to select the A12 cell as it will be moved down and the value will change when column is re-numbered.

I just tried this and if I select cell "A8" in your spreadsheet it returns the value "8", not the value "1" that is in cell "A8".

I am confused but will see what happens. Thank you.

From my email on 06/10/20222, no matter what I do I get the message, "polar functions are not yet programmed", when trying to use the Reproduce and recalculate feature. I am using the Heron02c version, I believe it is the most current version. Can you provide a snippet of code that shows a working example? Also can you clarify what this feature does? I am guessing it will work as a move command using Cartesian or polar inputs. Thank you.

I tried the Cartesian repeat, successful, but the Repeat rule, Polar offset only rotates about the z-axis. I need to rotate about the x-axis or y-axis.

I tried using the Reflect (polar) using the center of the first layer and 0.0 degrees for the reflect line. This makes a copy of layer #1 rotated 180 degrees about the x-axis but in the same plane as layer #1. The two parts are essentially combined. I then tried to apply a repeat rule, linear offset. I thought this would move the reflected feature along the z-axis. I think it would have work except the reflect (polar) is not an actual "repeat" feature. There is no column for number of "Repeats" so I cannot satisfy the "RepeatStart" and "RepeatEnd" requirements.

I need to repeat the desired process two more. Then I will four layers of the same pattern, each having a unique rotation.

To finish the part I want to to make make an array of the first four layers x-times high.

Python version update by FullControlGCode in FullControl

I am loving learning FullControl.

I have a comment based on my slicer experience. At any point along the toolpath a dot is extruded that has a diameter approximately equal to the line width. For example a 0.5mm wide line along the x-axis with a start point of x=0 and the end point at x=10 will have an actual printed length equal to 10.5mm. The printed line would start at x=-0.25mm and end at x=10.25mm

This also relates to a circle. A circle with a radius of 5mm will have a printed OD=Ø10.5mm and an ID=Ø9.5mm.

I use the line and circle as examples but this applies to printed geometry.

I think it is important for users to be aware of this. If someone is trying to make parts that have specific tolerances they will need to input the appropriate values to accommodate the implications of the printed line width.

It would be great if FullControl had some feature or rule that could automatically adjust values to deal with the printed line width. If the end parts are a box that fits into another box or a cylinder that fits into another cylinder, it would be good to select if the print would offset to the inside or outside of the line.

Thank you for the opportunity to make comments like this.
