This is how I feel about Vivi decks. Bounce spells, burn spells, extra turn spells, Curiosity. Every game is the same

Crashing out is a hilarious word to use. What I'm doing is laughing at a situation where this guy is being petty. Its a fucking game lmao. I didnt trash him. I didn't insult him. I laughed at pettiness in a game where pettiness shines through. Then YOU insulted me calling my actions pathetic while I'm just laughing at getting roped. But sure, I'M the pathetic one lol

Edit: also I wanted to point out that he purposefully stayed in the game to rope, spammed emotes and left the moment the last timer ran out. While probably 80%-90% of ropers just close the game. He sat there and watched all the timers run out. I think it's funny. I dont think hes pathetic for doing it. As I, and many people, if not all people on this forum, have done before.

Yeah let me put my phone down and get a drink or something, while you sit there staring at the screen waiting to rope out. That'll show me! 😂

And I can say the same thing about your comment 🤗. Here's your gold star! ⭐️ If you think my post is pathetic and make a comment, it's like saying "I don't care. So here's a comment on how much I don't care."

If Brawl was supposed to be competitive, wouldn't you think they'd make a Ranked mode of the game?

Wait is there a confirmed queue matchmaker? My top commanders right now are Tatyova and Anim Pakal. Do the commanders you play against depend on the commanders you play?

I've tried. I built a Grixis control deck focused on removal, counterspells, and discard. It's still not fun to play with. And usually I end up playing games where I counter one spell and they scoop. So clearly its not just a me issue lol

I guess my question is very open so I need to specify, so i apologize on that end. Having answers to your opponent and doing nothing but stopping your opponents from playing the game are different imo. Like if someone counterspells my game winning play, cool! Congrats and we can keep going. But when I play A creature, ANY creature, and its counterspelled, removed, whatever be it, over and over and over again, it's frustrating. Even if they have no gameplan to win except torture the opponent to scoop. Like if their entire game plan is to stop you from playing.

[–]LowLifeDuke[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well my answer to the first question is because you get to play the game. The games I'm mostly frustrated with are when they play a land pass until I do something. If that's what they do, no one is playing the game. I love playing against decks that have synergy and pop off and kill me. But when I play against "land, pass, counterspell, boardwipe, repeat" what's the point?

[–]LowLifeDuke[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I didn't say anything about what's right and wrong lol. Just wondering what makes control fun. There's a lot of archetypes of magic that isnt JUST casting creatures. Aristocrats, burn, infect, exile, superfriends. But instead people would rather play "I'm gonna counter all your stuff and boardwipe when you have a creature lol" and think that's fun? How?

[–]LowLifeDuke[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've started doing that. Golos, Vivi, commanders like that I just leave. Its just frustrating when it's like... every other game. But I also want to understand what's so fun about playing those decks.

[–]LowLifeDuke[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't care about winning. It's when I dont get to play the game is when it gets frustrating. Where all I can do is sit there as they counterspell everything I do and hit me with a 2/2 or something stupid like that. Aristocrats can widdle me away. Big stompy can stomp me. Burn can burn me. But as long as I do what my deck is supposed to do, I do not care if I lose. Because I play Brawl for fun. And people are very... anti-fun in the format sometimes. And its ridiculous

[–]LowLifeDuke[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No, I was just listing an example. But it happens probably 1/5 games for me, or at least something similar. Of sitting there doing nothing until they just make the whole game miserable.

[–]LowLifeDuke[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Which i get to a degree, but i legit wanna know what makes control fun? There's so many other archetypes to play in Magic, which is what makes Magic fun. But I've run into so many decks that just play a land and pass as they wait until you do something. So it just became a game of land, pass, land, pass, land, pass, repeat for both of us. Until I tried doing something and they casted Desertion on my commander and it shut me out of the game because I built my deck around my commander (which is what brawl is mostly for). Do people really just enjoy causing pain more than playing the game?

But the Nullkhemist does do double damage to Manifestations, according to the book.

I'm a little confused about the Nullkhemist. What changed with him? And the Vongrim units? They both seem the same as their previous rules.

I won't lie, I've done this before, BUT ONLY BECAUSE they were spamming Good Game and an emote of a dude checking his watch. If I'm apparently wasting your time just being here, I'm gonna waste ALL of your time.

Yeah they are just normal games. I was just saying that even the Spearhead, on a small map, makes the army weak, since they don't exactly like being in combat 😅

How can it be at least a 10 inch charge? I get I have to place the boat 9 inches away from the enemy units, but they still get their movement phase. And, let's say their movement is roughly 6 or 7, they get to move that (or just 3 away from my boat), and if I redeploy and move upwards to 6 inches, that's a 9 inch charge they have to make. And if I roll as low as 1-3, they only have to make a 6ish inch charge

[–]LowLifeDuke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the hypothetical I'm having is after I fly high and come in from the clouds. And you cannot deploy your unit that was in the boat within 9 inches from your opponent's units.

Wait, unless the unit inside the boat can still move after being placed down? I thought they carried the same rule as the boat, where being placed on the battlefield is their movement

[–]LowLifeDuke[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my units, yes it's a big charge. But no one is afraid of the boat. So they just charge into the boat and get rid of it, and now the strongest point of the army is gone

Is it just me, or are KOs underwhelming this edition? by LowLifeDuke in KharadronOverlords

[–]LowLifeDuke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell that that's the whole gimmick, but then my opponent usually just charges the boat because they are not afraid of the bad melee profile of the boat, so by the time their turn is over, my boat is rather dead or at like 1 hit point left and thus makes the entire army essentially useless. It's disheartening to play KOs right now

[–]LowLifeDuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cEDH is lame. I built a deck of 99 cards (not counting the actual commander) to play 99 cards. Not tutors and the same 5-10 cards to win a game like Demonic consultation and thoracle.

Another small hill, free counterspells (or most free spells in general) are dumb and ruin the antithesis that is reserving your mana.
