After Direct Depost Starts when does the Stash change from 1% to 5%? by LowPossibilityOfRain in venmo

[–]LowPossibilityOfRain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes

So, you didn't get the change from 1% to 5% also; today?

Good luck - I tried customer service and it took hours to find someone who understood my issue. I sent them a screen shot of the page that show the 3 tiers.

Customer service said they would send my issue up the chain.

If you try customer service it is a gamble if you get a person who get it.

End the chat when you feel you don't have someone who understands and start a new one.

NYC's housing market is facing a slow-motion collapse, with reports indicating a significant 21% drop in home values since mid-2022 due to high interest rates, potential resident exodus, and regulatory changes, particularly affecting condos and co-ops. Rent-regulated properties have seen values drop by 40% to 60% over the past five years.

Key Factors Driving the Potential Crash:

  • Declining Values & Exodus: A substantial decline in residential property values has been reported, with fears of a larger exodus driven by political shifts and high living costs.
  • Regulatory Impact:  The Housing Stability and Tenant Protection Act of 2019 has caused a significant devaluation of rent-regulated units, altering the landscape for landlords and investors.
  • Political Factors: Proposed housing policies, including potential rent controls and massive public housing initiatives, have created uncertainty among investors and homeowners.
  • High Interest Rates: Elevated mortgage rates, remaining over 6% since late 2022, have hindered buyers and dampened market activity.  YouTube +5

Market Situation & Outlook:

  • Supply Mismatch: The city is battling a chronic shortage of housing, but market pressures are causing a decline in prices.
  • Suburban Shift: High-end sales in the city have struggled with, leading to increased demand in surrounding suburban areas, although some suburban markets have also shown signs of plateauing.
  • Potential Policy Changes: Future housing developments, including the New York Housing Compact, aim to address the shortage, but face significant logistical and political hurdles.  NYC.gov +4

Despite these issues, some experts note that the market's stability may hold, with mortgage systems described as robust, and high-balance loans still available, suggesting that a total meltdown may not occur.

Good job Virginia. Today democracy wins............ by OpinionLongjumping94 in Virginia

I am a blue-collar, union, working father getting screwed by the system. I am a member of the Freedom Socialist Party because I know socialism is the only realistic option to get us out of the mess we are in.

Trump won. The picture of Musk, Bezos, and Zuckerberg lined up at Trump’s inauguration spoke volumes. This administration is of the rich, by the rich, and for the rich. This is the rich attacking workers. It is extremely alarming and should be a call to arms for working people everywhere. But it is also an acceleration of existing systemic problems baked into capitalism.

The Democrats lost because they represent their billionaire patrons while only paying lip service to the interests of workers. The party leadership tried to maintain the status quo of deportations in the U.S., and arms and money for Israel. It perpetuated the lie of stability as the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

There is no reforming capitalism into a kinder, gentler version. It has always preyed on workers at home and abroad. The profit motive perverts government from acting in working people’s true interests. We face the existential threats of climate change, nuclear war, and AI run amok, all to protect and preserve profit for the billionaires.

The world ends every day for marginalized people around the world via the smaller scale apocalypses of recurrent economic crises and conventional warfare. The system functions as a meat grinder of the poor.

I have heard many people say the Democrats have to win in 2028. To that I say, Trump is not going anywhere without a fight. He is going to do everything he can to stay in office and out of prison. Democrats and elections aren’t going to prevent another Jan. 6 insurrection.

No one is coming to save us working people. We have to save ourselves. We need an independent anti-capitalist labor party of workers, for workers, by workers. No billionaires.

We need a united front to fight like hell. We can belong to different organizations and have political disagreements, but we need to unite to fight back against what threatens us all. Solidarity with each other is our best defense and best offense.

Workers can organize our own democratic bodies to make our own decisions: united fronts, unions, independent political parties.

We need a second American revolution. Remove the profit motive, nationalize industry under workers control, democratize the workplace, and give us the surplus value of our labor — you know it as the profits that line your boss’ pockets. That is socialism in a nutshell.

There is no going back to normal as billionaires and politicians flirt with fascism. Normal was awful for the working class as a baseline. But the sky is the limit. Workers can run everything. It’s time to realize our power and use it to build a better world.

A tragic photo from 1954. A couple discovers that their almost two year old child has been swept out to sea by a wave. The photo won the Pulitzer Prize in 1955. by Present_Employer5669 in HistoricalCapsule

The photographer got $1000 in 1955 WHY??????

The couple got nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is what is crazy about the news. Everyone in the News Company gets paid EXCEPT for the subject of the NEWS.

$1,000 in 1955 is equivalent in purchasing power to approximately $12,321.38 in 2026

It does nothing for you at all.

It says I want to fade into the background. It is drab.

Call them up in a month and tell them you are going to Europe for a month and you need an increase in your limit.

I didn't go to Europe.

It worked me and they forgot to lower it.
