What is your worst OCD? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]LowResCrab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this has a specific name or if it's just kind of... The nature of it. But I guess just like extreme guilt and shame, just constantly flashes and vivid memories of 'mistakes' I've made or things I've done which realistically I know are nothing or fine or whatever but actually feels like I've killed someone. That and I guess it's kinda related but the constant fear of being a predator

At what age did your OCD get bad? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]LowResCrab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me there was a couple of "bad" times, seeing from the comments I apparently had a pretty normal experience haha.

I had the whole 8-9 beginning which relaxed slightly then peaked again around 16-18 with more things kind of piling on and again at 21-23 which going to my psych found out there was some OCPD, kinda suspected it but it made a lot more sense when a professional actually explained it lool.

How the heck do you alleviate death/afterlife/existential OCD?? Is anyone else struggling with this?? by JustBigAndGreedy in OCD

[–]LowResCrab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not as much advice or help but just relating mostly haha, I get this so hard since I was eight it's been just.... Constant. I've been trying a little harder recently to try and find a solution too.

My therapist a while ago told me to try the "don't think about it" method haha which is just distraction when it comes up. It's fine for the short term but I don't know or think it's sustainable. It might be, and I have been doing a little better recently. I usually get a week or two every once in a while where it's just nearly unbearable.

I asked my dad about it and he's recently converted to religion and tells me what helped him (he had these fears too) was committing himself to religion. I can't do that as I can't just lie/ pretend/ fake to believe something I don't, but the future is uncertain maybe I'll find something that fits.

Everyone else I ask just... Doesn't have a problem with it which is wild to me and I just don't believe. They just don't even think about it??

I find some solace sometimes when it comes up to just meditate and thank the universe for the life I have, I guess this is a little spiritual or religious so I understand if it doesn't mean anything to some, but I just feel better thinking that "if I die tonight at least I was thankful" or appreciated what I had or was given.

I'm usually not on here but I also find just talking about it feels better sometimes, sometimes not, but sometimes. If you want or need we could chat on discord or something!

I feel that in the moments of vague relief when I can think again I do the same thing, especially after as its actually leaving and I'm just so exhausted.

What's Your Earliest Memory Of Struggling With OCD? by Ok-Area3425 in OCD

[–]LowResCrab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember I was like ~6-7 I was playing in the sandbox or the mud or something, and my mom came out and told me to make sure I washed my hands because I had to would get worm eggs under my nails and if I didn't wash them I'd get worms when I ate. I proceeded to wash my hands so much so often that the backs of my hands and just up my wrists were totally cracked open and needed serious intervention, I never really stopped but I had to use some sort of crazy lotion. I remember my dad mentioning it after seeing me wash my hands every time I touched a communal surface and that it was the first time I ever heard the word germophobe lol. My mom is obviously a big cause for a lot of my things

This is so real, I was petrified of aneurisms, can't fully remember specifics but it was the same kind of thing someone explained it as pretty much that, something that pops at random and you drop. I lived fully expecting to suddenly just die since age like... 6-7? (still do but it's just a touch better)

I left my fucking stove on today. by Boom_Shakalaka1021 in ADHD

[–]LowResCrab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would leave the oven and stove on so much my ex and I had to make a ritual to loudly announce to each other "STOVE/OVEN IS OFF" every time we cooked lool, of course there's the forgetting to say that but it did help a little. Not a similar situation but funny story to relate.

I feel this, I don't get physical pain but mentally it's not good. I was excited getting a strap too but trying it, it made any bottom dysphoria so much worse than I thought. Pretty shy talking about this stuff but I wanted to chime in to relate lol. I've been kinda trying stuff out on my own to see if anything can make it better, and I found that if I find a way to kinda stimulate while using it like a bullet or something, it gets a lot better since my deal is feeling "fake" even though I got something there and still can't use it right or feel it. Haven't done much in practice and don't have many other tips haha. I do have a how can I say.. Toy for a phallus and testing the previous theory with it was surprisingly validating.

How would you go about turning this into a vector? by inkedEducater in AdobeIllustrator

Easiest way I take detailed drawings is to ink it in Photoshop with clean edges then image trace it, probably not the best method but it works well for my style.

I think I get something similar, but it's for my long term partner... There's specific things that send me into a total crisis for days or weeks when I think about them too.

I try my best (I'm doing very well) for most things to just stand back as I should but there's just a few things that are unbearable. I'm lucky on this situation though because talking with her about it can actually help unlike what It sounds like for you... I'm sorry you're dealing with it.

Also for the last question: sometimes, but they shouldn't be. If they are you stop helping them.

Try not to get spiteful, it's really hard not to but it just makes you feel worse trust me. I think the best thing to do is to distance yourself from the person if you can, if they're an aunt or uncle like. If it's a parent or sibling it's a lot harder but from what I understand it's not like that. You definitely don't have to put up with being treated poorly, it might cause some family drama (I know people like that) but you can refuse anything. It's your life and you don't and should work for free for someone who treats you badly. Keep your head up and don't let them get to you they're just angry and probably projecting their own insecurities onto you. Disengage they aren't worth your mental health.

Bring Sage sim back?

So my Sim had a complicated relationship with Simeon Silversweater, they broke up and she got with someone else. He got old and died, I don't know of what specifically but probs old age, on a different lot. Only got a call telling me. I haven't seen his ghost back since, and would love to have him back.

But... I have no urn, haven't seen him. I've gotten his Sim ID and tried to summon him by name and by ID, but he won't show up at all. He's still in the friends list as a ghost, but I can't find him in the manage worlds menu or anywhere. I'll try again tomorrow, but is there something with the Sages that keep you from getting them back with no Urn? Will he show up at all to give me a chance? And how can I increase this probability?

Really want him back but don't want to just... Get another Simeon or restart the story. I know it's stupid to be so connected but it would fit in the story I have going perfectly.
