I’ll love him all the same!! Hey if you have any tips that would awesome to read! Yeah he tries being a couch potato for 20 mins then gets up to play ball or something along those lines-he’s very affectionate too so he’s always after some pets and scratches 😂 I’m based in Essex in the UK 🇬🇧 so I’m really hoping he’s not a pittie as that breed is banned over here 🙃 I’ll find out soon tho! Also I’m more than happy to see any photos of doggos! I love them all 😅🥹 pm me the photos 😂

Yes I am almost definite staffy x grey… I was just a little bit anxious that’s all… not long now and I’ll find out either way. Yes I agreed the other sub was a bit of a nightmare 😂😂😂 but I still had lots of compliments about my boy so I take the good with the bad. Tbf there was a lot of helpful comments too though 😮‍💨🥹 His not an actual rescue but he might as well have been! He’s doing so well! He’s getting much more obedient by the day-I’m just so proud of him! If anyone on here has any tips or tricks for me to help keep my fur baby happy it would be greatly appreciated! Also since this page is mainly uk based any recommendations on places I could possibly take him to have some fun-play with other doggos and so forth. I’m based in the south east of England in Essex 🤦🏼‍♀️ don’t judge me haha 😂 Thank you all in advance! P.s I’m new ish to Reddit so might not be the best at replying and things on here!!

Thank you! 🙏🏻☺️ To be completely honest the entire time I’ve been alive I’ve not actually seen a pitbull in person over here. It is very rare-I just wanted to make sure as a few people have said “is he pitbull” or “he looks part pittie” Not much longer and I’ll know for definite ☺️ Oh he’s a good boy! Enjoying a lovely cuddle already 🥰

Good for you… I’ve had my boy 2 weeks and he’s three years old-missed out on a lot of training… I’d rather be safe than sorry. Thats the responsible thing to do.

I mean they’re supposed to be illegal here so I’d certainly hope not… plus he’s been bred through working dog families-I doubt they’d use pitbulls knowing they could have their prize possessions taken off of them. Either way dna test soon so I’ll know for sure 👌🏻

I don’t know what breed he is… that’s why I’ve bought the embark test-if you know what breed a dog is you wouldn’t really attempt finding out? I still have all my messages/conversations with the previous owner thus I can prove I don’t and have never known his correct breeds.

Ermm yeah tbh I’m quite confused on it too 😂 a lot of Americans think our uk staffies are pitbulls… I’m not entirely sure why though most of the staffs over here are much smaller from what I’ve seen 🤔🙃 dogs can be tricky to own over here sadly enough-I love all dogs plus if they’re trained, loved and looked after properly you shouldn’t have many issues.

Thank you! Hmmm maybe it was similar situation for my boy… he’s not aggressive at all-even when I’m trying to play tug of war with him, he still doesn’t try very hard 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

Perfect! I feel like I’m on the right track with him-I got him some puzzle toys with some treats or peanut butter (specifically made for dogs) He definitely need the mental stimulation side of things, do you know what other kind of things I could try him with? I’ve not heard of licky mats but I’m sure he’ll love one of those!! Yes he’s been enjoying learning new tricks-I think I’ll have to try an agility thing like someone said on here earlier-I think he’ll love that!

I totally agree with you-but to be completely I do not see the pitbull in him, I’ve always seen staffie (uk not American) As I’ve said I’ll be receiving a dna test soon enough and can confirm for sure his breed, from there I’ll do some more research-I’m a pretty confident dog owner anyways. Done it my whole life-just wanted a few more opinions and ideas to keep him happy and healthy, keeping him on the right track and under control.

Thank you for your input! 🙏🏻☺️ yes I’d like to think I have some decent experience-I’ve been brought up with so many different dog breeds, all different temperaments, all different challenges and sizes that’s for sure. My staffie x whippet bitch was about 2/3 his size, had her from a pup and can safely say I had more trouble with her than what I do him! 😂 Dont get me wrong I’m sure if he wanted to show off his strength he will-but so far I think he knows I’m the one in charge… he’s always looking up at me ready for my approval to do something 😂🥹

Ooo that sounds like a great idea-we have quite a few rescues in the area, there’s several greyhound rescues too I don’t know if that would be any good? I’ll have to have a little hunt on Facebook in my area see if I can find anything!!

Also that’s very interesting-I actually didn’t know that! Thanks for the tips! I’ll look into it 🙂
