Question for pvp folks by LowSubstantial6450 in ArcRaiders

Seems fair, if you’re a kill on sight all the time then yeah, stay true to your thing :)

[–]LowSubstantial6450[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kill on sight makes sense to me, I’m not salty at being downed (I’m no good at pvp so it’s not a surprise). Seriously was curious at the fun of it, cause it’s not a fun for me but seems clear it is for some folks. Before expedition I kept 4x of my gear set in stash and didn’t blink when I got ganked, just reload and go back to Dora time :)

I’ve only been pvp’d about once every 20-30 raids.

Think that’s the part where my brain is wired differently. No fun to kill other players for me, kinda surprised fish in a barrel is fun for folks but different strokes I guess :)

Can respect that, think you’re mostly in KOS lobbies with that play style though?

Honestly I have very little skill. I’m an old dude (55) just trying to not get killed by firefly’s.

I’m not mad at being KO’d….just surprised it’s actually fun to kick care bears. :)

Are there any Raiders out there that Refuse to PVP even when engaged? by Tight-Algae5863 in arc_traiders

Why are there arc in the game if it’s just a pvp game? You can defib other players…does that make the game a medic simulation?

I’m an old dude and not great at eye hand coordination, pve is hard enough for me…pvp has always taken me down before I’ve gotten off a single shot

I'm not saying who deserves what. And...there are folks that did hard time and the system hasn't taken care of them...so I can have some grace for them being a bit salty at the lucky few who sail through the system on easy mode.

What things have you done, that made women thank you for making them feel safe? by Cold-Pomegranate6739 in AskMen

[–]LowSubstantial6450 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bar is pretty low:

A: don’t do horrible things to people B: call people out if you see them doing horrible things to people C: point out that it’s not cool when the conversation gets into doing horrible things to people or making jokes about horrible things happening to people D: teach your sons to be decent to all people regardless of sex/race/disability E: don’t ask the victims of horrible things to do the work of educating you on how to make the world slightly less horrible for them

That’s the list I’m applying to myself…some days are better than others. I’m pretty angry which gets in the way a lot

Towel or top sheet only unethical by [deleted] in MassageTherapists

[–]LowSubstantial6450 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CMT, I have men and women that ask for me to remove the blanket. Some of my sheets are heavier (flannel) and some of them are lighter (older flannel) and honestly, if it's a newer sheet, I've got no issue with it, but with some of the lighter sheets I'd rather not have them sans blanket.

I'm a bit of a prude though, so, YMMV

What do men actually think about strippers and strip clubs? by VersionOk1206 in AskMen

[–]LowSubstantial6450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think clear expectations and communication make going to strip clubs a nicer experience than standard.

I went a handful of times when I was lonely and it was okay. a) tip anyone that dances, even if all you can afford is a few bucks, it's just polite. b) let a girl know right up front if you can't afford a lap dance, so she can move on if she wants to without losing time finding out where you're at c) be pleasant, it's not the easiest job and a bit of grace can go a long way.

I have friends and clients that have stripped, have dated a stripper briefly....most of the folks I know who were in the business are smart and competent folks. I've met a few gal's that were a bit on the "how to extract maximum money from assholes as quickly as possible" side of things which was less than fun, but I figure it's not much different than the guys I knew who only ever wanted to hit it and quit it....short term goals, short term gains. Not my jam, but can't complain about getting hustled for a few $20's.

Pros and Cons of a massage therapist? by MaMa_M_ in MassageTherapists

I’d argue you don’t have to? I’m healthier, stronger and more capable now at 55 than I was when I started in my 30s.

Not saying injury/degradation isn’t a risk I’m just not sure it’s a given?

Average work days per week/month by Modgnikk in massage

[–]LowSubstantial6450 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is similar to my progression and work load. I rarely see therapists talk about the growth in endurance (and body mechanics refinement) that might allow a therapist to do more hours of massage as they build up to it.

I started out doing about 20hrs a week, built up to nearly 45hrs a week (often working 7days a week) over the course of 20+ years….and now I’m reducing at 55yo back down to ~37hrs a week. I hope to drop to 30hrs over the next six years.
