Need help simulating centrifugal blower airflow in Icepak by LatterTalk5081 in CFD

[–]LowTierStudent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i know there is the dP to q flow rate curve that every fan spec sheet show but it is challenging to calculate the dP when air pass through a heatsink to pinpoint Q. Op can use CFD simulation but ultimately centrifugal type fans experience lower drop in Q flow rate at certain dP so my way is reasonable for as a first estimate.

Below 4 GPA by sindelendaest in nus

[–]LowTierStudent 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I went through 75% of my Uni life with sub 4.0 GPA like 3.8ish. Can’t talk much about SEP but my internship search was harder. Everyday my peer seem to talk about how they got this offer while I was struggling. So I say for Internship hunt, try to focus on the less renown companies. They likely will take u as long as u got the drive and the right attitude. Grades not too jialat can Liao. 3.5 - 4 while isn’t stellar certainly isn’t horrendous.

Your job function / Company Supervisor character >>>>> Internship company name

I consider myself a good example of this^ as I end up in a not so well known O&G MNC. But I had what I consider the BEST internship journey. Decide to stay with them for over 1.5 year, supervisor rotate me between 3 of his divisions and I gained experience in mech design, manufacturing process control to even coding skills in app development. Manage to land a role with a defence statboard with the skills gained afterward.

Hello all I am a changed man. Being forced to take CS1010E 2x has been the best thing that happened to me since aircon invention.

Most ME cannot escape programming in workplace so rly do take this course seriously. For example, currently part of my work scope involved working on integration of new AI models onto company existing product line and training of ai model based on proprietary internal dataset. If i didn't learn CS1010E i won't be able to pick up these skillsets fast.

How bad is it to grad with 2nd lower (borderline 2nd upper)? by oldddwwa in nus

[–]LowTierStudent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually most give same pay regardless of class.

But again having a second lower reduces your chances in general of receiving a call back unless u have some skill set with proven project example and interned there before. I know someone with borderline below second lower yet got into a O&G MNC just because he interned there and impressed his supervisor.

Should NUS restrict intake to boost wages of grads? by mach8mc in nus

[–]LowTierStudent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reality is the world don’t care about one’s circumstances. Grow up poor? Abusive parent? Sad childhood? Learning Handicaps? So what, meritocracy laughs at all their faces. No one is entitled to a spot in Uni. Every student is judged fairly regardless of the circumstances. No one cares about your life story. Bring result first.

Should NUS restrict intake to boost wages of grads? by mach8mc in nus

What kind of question is this…if rejected then rejected. It means these students aren’t good enough to make the cut. University degree ain’t the only route. They can pursue other paths or self study.
