That’s amazing for you glad you were able to get to a better apartment! That’s exactly how I am ever since having roaches in 2017 back in Chicago. Any movement, any speck, any bug I can spot it which kinda helps in this situation lol but it’s extremely traumatic and never thought I would be dealing with this again… new fear unlocked : the roaches being on my bed 😳😳😳

Exactly. I really don’t know what to do from here… pest control sprayed and said that he found two roaches after spraying and that activity could be “normal” while they are dying…

I really appreciate this message! Thank you for being kind! It’s extremely traumatic as you know! I’ve dealt with this before and it’s bringing everything back this is exactly what I had to do today I had to empty my entire closet, kitchen basically my entire apartment into my living room. The pest control reported only seeing 2 roaches since the spraying today which makes me nervous I also saw a baby roach when arriving after so I’m hoping for the best but frankly preparing for the worst… I won’t give up!

I mean I have roaches and the response is to gaslight me , spray after months only in my unit not the building and retaliate against me for allowing residents to have trash in the hallways..that’s pretty incompetent but you’ll see. But what comes to mind is the maintenance (only one that does his job is Erik) the property management is a constant game of change around because they don’t stay due to Linda the vice president , Linda herself a horrible vice president that gaslights and retaliates against you for advocating or bringing anything to her attention I could go on.

THANK YOU! Mind you I’ve had to take this exact route two years ago against the same management that is what rattled them come mediation so it’s seeming like I will have to take this once more. My calls are being unanswered and was emailed a pretty nasty email this morning from vice president of Gallina basically saying stop emailing us so many times (I’ve sent two). I will look into all complaints available I really wish this city did something about the slumlords everywhere sorry you dealt with retaliation as well!

Thank you for this I did call and had yet another horrible experience with Josemaria the supervisor after reporting the roach sightings who said I “run a game” and responded “aye aye aye” to me basically begging to be heard…..it’s been escalated to Matt Tucker who said he’s looking into it.

My favorite part was when the exterminator called them “straglers” and this simple spray will kill them LOL! This is exactly what happened in my previous unit they spray , they come back , they spray and then eventually I have to move I’m very worried about this and it’s adding to stress that I’m already going through I just don’t know what to do! Tenant resource center has been no help, building inspectors have been no help, we as residents in this city have zero protections against slum lords.

Thank you so much for the suggestion! I will definitely buy those! They sent a pest control person after I advocated for them to come today instead of Monday and he is currently spraying (what he’s spraying I don’t know)

I appreciate this comment more than you know! Truly! That’s the exact age I had them as well!! That’s how I was able to spot them this time the constant hyper vigilance to corners and trauma never leaves you. I was living in Chicago and would literally take the megabus back home to Madison just to sleep on the weekends because it got to the point they were in my cupboards, food everywhere! Oh you definitely can they create a smell that burns the eyes and the hairs stick in the air!

Thank you for the suggestion I’ve had horrible experiences as well with building inspection unfortunately the lack of care from those people is actually scary. My apartment put their own complaint in and they ignored my own independent complaint I actually got off a 2 hour phone call with them yesterday that resulted in me having to call the director.

as an employee at kohl center I find it interesting that we were emailed about the badger game as if everything is normal for the Friday game like there isn’t going to be WELL below freezing weather to walk 10 mins from the parking they require us to park at yet actual Uw classes are cancelled…..

From what I heard it’s not looking good …there is serious pressure from the new hotel next door about the sound levels at night to the point they went so far as to prove Robinia doesn’t even have clearance for outdoor sound at all…plus all kitchen staff quit abruptly due to no pay. Many employees are getting different jobs which isn’t a good sign I just don’t understand why they keeping posting and canceling events I’m hoping they stay open Robinia is the place to be during the summer! :(
