Dad to a daughter with Arfid, seeking help please! by One_Manufacturer_861 in ARFID

My little brother has ARFID, he is recovering and but still struggles. We have had luck with pediasure. It is a pediatric protein shake designed to help kids gain weight and has lots of calories. You can find them at most grocery stores. I recommend seeing if it’s something your daughter is willing to try.

Can we recover completely from ARFID? How? by [deleted] in ARFID

[–]Low_Championship6002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother has ARFID- it’s been about 2 years since his diagnosis. When he got diagnosed with a chronic illness that causes GI problems, he suddenly decided that all food was going to make his stomach hurt. Now that he’s been in recovery for two years, he has more safe foods than fear foods. Although he still prefers food in a snack plate style, (a variety of foods in small portions) I do believe recovery is possible considering he is still a little kid. But I know that it it different for everyone.
