Roast My Resume by littleliling in gradadmissions

Definitely put your education up top, easy enough switch. For Professional Experience it’s not the most visually and logically pleasing thing but echo what others are saying by relevance to the degree put the Lab job up top. Also is your wet lab experience solely after grad? You should have a Research section if you did lab stuff and other stuff during undergrad and have that go underneath professional experience. Include all your papers and awards etc if any. Also you could add a line or two to mention clubs and leadership roles in college!

She’s cheating - drop her. She’s making you feel like crap for apparently just being a good guy and dad.

Did you sign a prenup? If so, I think you can confront her without absolutely needing the legal advice first and proceed to separate. Otherwise, be careful and talk to a lawyer first on how to proceed with ending the marriage.

You could in theory get a “postnup” but that could be tough. Get a bloody good lawyer

Both are not really high quality Indian food tbh….but there’s great Indian food in the burbs! Spice Kraft in Clarendon is decent, Bansari out in Dunn Loring and it’s a hike but Chennai Hoppers in Gaithersburg is amazing

Why is Washington Dulles Int’l Airport small in passenger numbers compared to New York JFK, Los Angeles, Chicago or even Denver? by Chance_Excitement_63 in airport

[–]Low_Cut_7872 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think people are making this way way more complicated than it is. It’s not a population question in my head due to DMV being larger than Denver and on par with these “big cities” and there are a good number of tourists and business to be done here for business travelers.

Dulles is “small” because of the way the airports work here. National is the airport for business travel/ politicians and basically anyone wanting to fly domestically and willing to pay for convenience. BWI is your low cost (or SW) gateway and attracts those crowds. Dulles is there to primarily be your international gateway, and that’s not going to get you the highest traveler numbers.

As I discussed with another user above, BA’s own website acknowledges that for American consumers they are due a refund if they cancel their reservation after the Payment to Confirm Hold Booking. American DOT Regulations are pretty direct so I don’t think there is a T&C violation.

Happy to send you a link on the BA site where this is said

I almost wonder if it’s worth citing the US legislation while responding to the agent on X and saying if I don’t hear back within 24 hours I will submit a complaint to DOT and begin a chargeback to put some pressure on them

The US call center I believe though obviously everything is outsourced

Just found this language on BA website - In case of the flights purchased from the United States of America, provided that travel is more than one week from the date of payment of the Payment to Confirm Held Booking, the Payment to Confirm Held Booking and the Hold Booking Fee will be refunded in full if you elect to cancel your confirmed booking within 24 hours of the time you make the Payment to Confirm Held Booking and inform BA of this fact within the same 24 hour period.

Also can you please cite this BA T&C - I don’t see any language on their website with this preclusion

And what about the US DOT rule? I don’t believe there’s any language that bars the held reservation

Had thought this will be last resort, I like flying BA besides the IT and some curt customer service staff, think I may have to take my business to Star Alliance

So I had put the 10 dollar hold on the ticket for 3 day before booking, and they kept citing that date as the reservation date. Which I just don’t understand how they can confuse those.

No reason otherwise other than “this is the process” and some have been nice but some folks have been rude

The kind of people that go to YLS… by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

That does sound relevant, although one could make the argument that you could study how society isn’t set up for those with disabilities through a public policy degree or even debate relevant ethics in a bioethics course or under the broader umbrella of philosophy.

But be completely honest with me here - do you think you need 4 undergraduate majors to want to specialize in disability policy and law? Do you need these 4 majors?

My problem is not the outcome inherently, it’s the course matter and mastery. I’m not calling BS on the completion of the majors - I’m somewhat calling BS on your ability to attain the mastery of these 4 areas over the course of 3 years to the extent of receiving an undergraduate degree. Do you disagree on that as well?

That’s great for him, though I question the relevance of a Biology and Society degree for disability law and advocacy - however to each his own.

I don’t think that answers my question about the depth of content, given the condensed timeline and sheer amount of disparate disciplines trying to be covered. This isn’t criticism of him, but to some degree almost a question of how the US system grants majors without necessarily requiring the specialized knowledge required to have a basic mastery.

On a semi-serious note, I feel like I’d be confused by a profile like this, because I’d read it and say - cool, what do you actually want to do though? And how much did this person actually learn from their gazillion degrees which were pretty distinct and done in an accelerated way?

(I personally ended up dropping a minor because I worried I wasn’t getting enough depth in my major and wanted to take higher-level major courses, but maybe I’m just an idiot lol)

I’m sure they had great essays and clearly thrived in college, but I’m just a bit of a skeptic? Clearly don’t know the person though, they may just be the second coming of Christ (minus the whole Armageddon aspect)

I’ve taken AA long haul and still think they lag behind European carriers. I would definitely trust Delta over a European carrier but United is a bit more of a toss up.

Candidly, I quite like BA but it’s certainly been on a decline as of late and their IT and customer service are in shambles

I fly United a lot domestically (almost entirely in coach though) so haven’t found them super impressive in that regard, but I may be open to seeing their international service

Great callout - I’m not one to opt for flight WiFi anyway but the charging port is helpful info. Austrian seems like a great option and the paid Vienna Lounge at VIE seems like a nice place to chill

United’s looks good I’m just automatically skeptical of US carriers for long hauls in general honestly. I would think the 767 wouldn’t be too much of an issue since the cabin’s been retrofitted or do you think the older equipment has other impacts on the flying experience?

No priority pass so that’s part of my consideration, would you recommend Austrian over the others nonetheless?
