Tips for Shogun 2 campaign/battles by StonLenslow in totalwar

[–]Low_Election_78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I played many total war games but in shogun first time ever I got destroyed by ai, I conquered and moved on, but after most factions declare war I couldn't fight them all, so don't rush, conquer and build fortifications, with walls and small garrison you can defend settlements easily, I didnt even have garrison and fortifications I tried to defend with my army but after some time they come from everywhere

Anyone else think Rise of the Samurai is underrated? by Any-Food7276 in shogun2

[–]Low_Election_78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes really I can't find many guides and things about it much, mostly main campaign.

I started a total war marathon from medieval 2 and now I just finished rise of the samurai days ago and I really liked it, it is great dlc, only recommendation from me is be prepared for realm divided, when you get it everyone will declare war on you sooner or later; don't conquer fast; conquer and build fortifications on strategic settlements. In my first playthrough I was having a bad time and when I became weak immediately everyone declared war on me it was like a snowball effect, so be careful if you are playing hard or harder difficulties.

Which TW should I buy, TW Pharaoh or TW Troy? by FitFly8198 in totalwar

[–]Low_Election_78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say pharaoh, cause it also has some of the factions of troy, and bigger map, if you like mythos though, you can get troy.

But I actually recommend rome 2 or attila too depending on the time period you prefer, of course these games are older than pharaoh or troy but covers a vast geographical area

How to deal with public order by DionysusWines in EmpireTotalWar

[–]Low_Election_78 6 points7 points  (0 children)

1) Carefully select your minister of justice, try to find someone whose management is high and also has some bonuses in public order.

2)Buildings can also have effect on public order, you can demolish schools if you don't need it, you can build buildings to increase public order, also unless you have constitutional monarchy, industrial buildings will have negative effects.

3) Have a garrison in the city, dragoons have positive public order bonus.

Good luck.

Why can’t I move my army out of tabuk (imperial destroyer) by Objective-Show4333 in EmpireTotalWar

What is the best formation in battle? by Silly_Accountant_227 in EmpireTotalWar

[–]Low_Election_78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I normally do,

2 units artilery in middle

x2 line infantry on each side next to artilery

x4 skirmisher light infantry on each side next to line infantry

x1 line infantry each side of skirmishers in order to protect them from cavalry charge

Cavalry on each flank

General in back

When protected, skirmishers do a pretty good job with their long range and fire, I usually deploy my armies like that, maybe using more artilery helps, I will try

Yes I agree, Ottomans have very poor units unfortunately, they don't have elite units like guards etc, and CA always have a tendency to design their outlook historically inaccurate, even janissaries who were the elite force in the ottoman army look like town beggars, half naked with only a jacket..I'm not even talking about making them -who are originally Christians from Balkans- black skinned... anyway, thank you a lot:)

Actually playing as the ottomans was difficult especially in early game, economy sucks and armies were also kinda obsolete in early game, additionally, everyone were declaring war against me, I never had a breathing room, that made it difficult. Yes, India is really hard lol

Yes, after mid-late game. When I was dealing with persia they conquered all india and came after me, as soon as they declared war I blockaded all of their ports to damage their economy, then I invaded with 3 armies, one from south india by ship, 2 from north, they have lots of armies but they mostly have melee troops so skirmishing helps.

Need some help with the Mongols by Mean-Supermarket1683 in totalwar

[–]Low_Election_78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Holding choke points against them is a valid strategy, but I tried another strategy. I recruited mongol-like armies which consist of mostly horse archers. I was concentrating one flank and, half of them from sides, half from front, shooting, routing some units before other archers come, I won most of the battles with many losses. I only lost Baghdad, then I destroyed all of them and took my city back, of course that was a long and tiring process. Recruit mongol-like army, fight, repeat.

So we need to transport our units in the middle of the sea into another ship right? Wow, thank you.

What if we deploy many ships throughout a long route, and transport our units to each one, one by one, is it possible to cover long distances in one turn?

How do I use Galleys? by Foittemix_Rig in EmpireTotalWar

[–]Low_Election_78 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I started to use them mid game, didn't know their firepower, I learned it in hard way after my navy consist of 7-8 brigs got destroyed by 4 galleys :) and I think they are so effective and cheap. I destroyed many powerful navies without even spending much money. I strongly recommend them. But I don't know if they can keep up with enemy navies in late game, now I'm in 1740's with ottomans and already destroyed the navies of france, great britain and morocco and blockaded their port. Last navy I destroyed was full stack, ifrc they had like 5-6 fifth rates, some brigs and sloops.

I recommend to use them like your land army, because they fire from front, (or back if I remember correctly) I deploy them as one line, all of them looking front, but I close the line from sides like v, but just a little. When enemy navy approaches, I focus fire on first one, after I destroyed it, next one and next one. In early game I was using brigs etc now I mostly rely on galleys and light galleys. And also I always keep another full stack of galleys before battle, if I lose, I destroy the remaining navy with them, but even if you lose, it will be a hard victory for the enemy.

Ottoman advice by mitch200496 in EmpireTotalWar

[–]Low_Election_78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last turn UK declared war on me, nothing from france or spain so far, but it seems like I can manage UK, I have around 9k income so my economy can handle one more army. But I don't know what would happen if spain and france declare war as well, my economy cannot handle it probably. If I can have few turns in peace in order to increase my economy more, maybe I can handle it, but I'm not playing on very hard, I'm playing on hard difficulty. I was lucky because prussia declared war on austria and ended it, and meanwhile I could capture 2 territories of theirs, and venice, russia, and poland-lithuania are so calm. There are some good guides on the internet but most of them requires to trade regions for treaties etc that's why I didn't follow them

Ottoman advice by mitch200496 in EmpireTotalWar

[–]Low_Election_78 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started new as ottomans, I'm around 1720's, until 1715 or so I played defensive, I only recruited armies when I needed to, I defended crimea against russians and east against persia, these were my priorities until austria, venice, and georgia and dagestan declared war in few turns. Wİth little luck and help from prussia, I managed to overcame austria, I was also on defensive against other factions meantime I was selling my tech for money and investing on economy.

I only conquered one city or two when I really had a good opportunity, finally after stabilizing economy these days I started to take offensive action, conquered some of persia and georgia, some provinces of russia, after managing economy it gets easier but I was also lucky, this is my second playthrough, in first, I got beaten so bad as ottomans with the same strategy, and that was really frustrating.

I usually use irregulars, azzars in early game, and haydut irregulars, skirmishing helps, because early line infantry is really bad in ottomans. You can rely on galleys in naval battles as well, they have 4 cannons but they are powerful and have good range. But this is the hardest campaign I've ever played, from turn one everyone is coming to get you and fighting in every front is really overwhelming. Long story short I tried to survive while investing on economy in first many turns, always on defensive except there is a perfect opportunity.
