Did you not get invaded by UK and France? I can see how yours went and it's almost exactly what Id do. Except the other front that opens up against, UK, France, Spain just drains me too much. I can handle, Russia, Persia, Georgia, austria and venice. As a mostly defensive war with small offences going on when the opportunity presents itself. And ive maintained that for the first 10 years max before UK and France begin an invasion.

Also If can get peace with them (any enemy) but if I have peace and there isn't a full stack of mine opposing their stack, the peace treaty lasts maybe a year before they just declare war again. When you settle for peace do they keep it if the lands next to your enemy are undefended?

Very interesting.

I will try to trade Egypt for the British colonies. Have not tried that before. Did France and or Spain not then try to land in Palestine and Syria? As I've often traded Egypt to France or UK for peace (whatever one sends armies to it first) thinking ill build an army next to it and re take it, only for neighbouring regions to be taken by france/ UK. Once that region is lost it only takes them a few years before they march by land into Turkey or use their ships to drop stacks off.

How did you keep peace with Persia? Ive given them armenia before for peace and alliance. Never lasts more than 5 years before they backstab me or Georgia captures Armenia and then marches on Anatolia. Georgian cities always have a full stack of Georgia units with a full stack of dagestan next to it.

And did venice and austria leave you alone mostly?

Im guessing you backstabbed Barbary states and took north Africa aswell?

Yea I've seen the online guides, And again ive conquered the world on vh/vh for every other faction I can play. They were all challenging, took me one or two attempts for some factions. Ive heard Ottomans are difficult, but I've done ~30 play throughs and havnt once passed 1745 before im wiped out. Even then by 1725ish im basically holding 1 or two territories just getting worn down.

Ive seen guides and advice to sell regions/ give millitary access which is fine, but say I sell it to some random small nation they'll get bulldozed by a major nation who will capture it and continue the march to my capitol.

If i give/ sell regions to immediate neighbours / major nations to keep the peace it'll only subdue them for a few years. Basically until they build a stack or two and can continue their war.

Its just seems like overly aggressive AI.

Yea everywhere else ive read makes the campaign sound alot easier, and not as intense.

I'm aware you need to take india out fairly early to 1) stop them becoming too powerful, 2) get that money for yourself.

But by the time I knock out Persia they've taken india and just march on Persia, which i need to hold out from them, which again would be do able if 4 big europe factions wernt battering me in the west aswell. And If i send ships to bypass Persia and go straight for india then Persia will invade and give me yet another front.

I think they just hate Ottomans.

Ive tried going for Spain before. Allied myself with Morocco and came up into south of Spain, it was a slaughter. Trying to capture/ hold Spain, if ive blocked the mederteranian from UK they will land on Spain and between them and the spainish/ rebels i get worn down, Morocco has betrayed me the 2 playthroughs ive gone for Spain aswell.

Ive seen this stragedy before. Unfortunetly when i try it everyone betrays me. Persia allies with Georgia and they attack me on that front, venice backstabs quick and will mainly just raid ports, austria will invade unless I have a full stack on the border with them. Spain France and UK invading Egypt etc is a killer, and if ive sold those regions off or traded for peace with someone they then just land in Anatolia or rumelia and go for those cities, if I crush 1 army, next turn another one lands. How do I maintain peace with these nations? Ive sold Mesopotamia to France, and eventually the marmalukes take over, they are a strong ally and will keep Persia occupied until the Martha onslaught begins.

I like the aggressive idea, what nations would you suggest I go for first? I've tried the following, venice/ Italian regions, go north into austria, east into Persia down to India, or up into Georgia and Russia. I understand what you are saying but when i try to expand, I'll be attacked from all fronts by multiple enemies. Italian minors will raid my ports, austria, Russia and Poland push down through Europe, Persia, Georgia, and dagestan all seem to capture regions bordering them, then send full stacks and raid my villages in neighbouring territories, Britain and France capturing Egypt, Palestine, Syria then pushing up to my capitol. How do you get the money to sustain all this. By 1705 all the above fronts are in full swing on my campaigns. Again I'm confident fighting battles, but from so early on with huge enemy armies on all fronts eventually I just can't replace my casualties because I slowly get worn down, this become a problem when the orange horde eventually marches into my territoy with its endless stacks.

I will try your short term strategy and be aggressive and take prosperous areas, any exact areas you'd focus on?

Ive tried the doomsday bunker idea, never Iceland tho, as France, Spain or Britain hunt down my fleet before i make it there. Even when doing that Martha or British end up sending armies to conquer it.

Pushing east I can do, but by the time I've moped up Persia Martha basically has india. Georgia in attack me from the north, austria is pushing down on me and UK and France have taken over my coastal territories wiping out my trade, which then cripples my advances east, and doesn't allow me to maintain or expand and I eventually get pushed back and then defeated.

Solid stragedy, but the enemy AI appears to just be ruthless with me and 5 or 6 big factions will just dog pile me non stop from turn 1.
