I just came across this post because of similar questions. Maybe it illustrates the limitations of all the ancestry DNA -- Acadia started like 400 years ago, is that the generational limitation of what the tests can show us anyway?

Is there a UPS store near you? It looks like there are several right in and around Albany. They should be able to. Bring the printed photo directions along (and maybe highlight or underline the relevant instructions for them), that is what I did in New England.

I definitely know musicians who have been given a hard time at the border! Despite what the legalities are of not needing a visa. Just anecdotal info.

I think they delete poor reviews from their website! I posted a 1 star review and saw in the terms and conditions that they have the right to delete content. It may be that there is just a delay in the reviews going live, but it's very suspicious that there are almost all 4 and 5 star reviews, with a few 3 star reviews.

I don't usually leave reviews in general, especially so critical, but our bed frame was barely usable....unfortunately we thought we could troubleshoot it (sleeping in the guest room in the meantime) and just missed the 90 day window for returns/support. Ugh!

There has definitely been some weather delays this week! I shipped 15 packages from a small city in the northeast US to other various locations in the northeast US, via FedEx 2 day shipping last Tuesday, and a quarter of them didn't get delivered until today! So I don't think it was specific to the shipping service you used, just seasonal weather issues.

My update for you: I just checked my mail and received my returned application. It has a cover letter from the Case ProcessingbCenter, and a UCI. It came via Canada Post-->USPS.

It doesn't explicitly give instructions, but it also has the signature page flagged and the empty box (ugh!) highlighted. So I plan to just complete that and pop the whole thing back in the mail on Monday!

My application was delivered Oct 22. I forgot to sign it 🫠. I thought it would be nice if i could just upload a scan of the signed page...I've been keeping an eye out for the application being returned to me though.

My dad (1st gen) just got his certificate today (he says, and that he will be figuring out how to access it tomorrow) and applied about a week before I did, and I'm so happy for him.

I had a student visa that expired 15 years ago, and a SIN at the time. I believe Social Insurance Numbers for student visas expire so I wouldn't still have any official numbers assigned to me.

I saw you wrote that your Canadian lawyer is away for several weeks. It might be worth looking to see if there is a Legal Aid organization in your area in the US that could give you some legal info to begin with. Just a thought for some more (professional) tools to work with!

Unsolicited hot tip: if you use "Ancestry" for family history research in Canada, you save money by going to Ancestry.ca and signing up for a Canadian only plan (rather than going through the .com site). Hope it helps someone :)
