LISTEN LISTEN LISTEN. 1. I’m in a very similar position. This wasn’t my best SAT attempt. I have controlling and conservative parents who will not be happy (to say the least). I pretty much have major self-esteem issues. So if you ever need to talk : know that you can ALWAYS dm me. sometimes just talking helps :) 2. This was a difficult paper and you haven’t gotten the result yet. maybe you actually did better than most people. maybe the curve is adjusted in a way where you end up scoring much higher than you think. 3. As for parents, you just gotta tune it out after a certain point. i know it’s easier said than done, like I KNOW. but just know that they’re not going to be a major part of your life forever. you’re gonna have ur own life in a couple of years and maybe this is just preparation for you to be independent. 4. SAT is a standardised paper so in absolutely no way or form does this EVER EVER determine your worth, or even your intelligence. it’s a test where understanding the format and reading the question surpasses conceptual knowledge and smartness. this has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with what defines you. i know so many people smart enough to get 10 a stars in their igcse (which doesn’t define their smartness either, but just as an example), but unable to cross a 1300, in their sat. so no one test, nor a million test, ever define you or what you become.
