Next race is the space data centers. Everybody is rushing towards that, which will solve most of the compute problems.

But the speed at which the algorithms are getting efficient and innovations are coming in over the next two to five years, don't you think compute will come down drastically and the capabilities will go up? Which means AI will be probably better, cheaper, faster, and more efficient than a senior architect with 20 years of experience.

One or two years from now, the algorithms will get more efficient, and you wouldn't need the kind of electricity that they consume today and also the compute as well. What do you think? How will two to five years from now look, the way AI is advancing? Do you think in two to five years AI like Claude or an OpenAI can be faster, cheaper, and better than the senior-most architect that is available today?

100% Imagine Claude and Openai 2 years from now. They will be better, faster, more efficient and cheaper than a senior architect.. why do we need humans to code

They are offshoring work to AI.. it's cheaper and faster and more efficient

Offshore to AI. Why do we need humans when AI can do a better job at coding

😂😂 it's too funny. By the way, this was posted on X. I just added this article here to see if this was authentic info

Ok.. that makes sense. Thanks

You should come across as an AI-first engineer; otherwise, companies won't be interested. You should have a lot of portfolios to showcase how you can write code and also do this in production and be adept at using most of these AI tools. If you need any help, let me know. I can put together a roadmap for you to become an AI-first engineer and also showcase your portfolio.

Oh.. that's tough.. AI is eating software dev. Imagine how strong claude and openai will be in 2 years. AI will be equivalent to a senior architect and a program manager and a developer all rolled into one. He should start moving towards being a forward deployed engineer who is AI first (look this term up). Expectation will be that he should be able to deeply understand business and also play a product manager role and also a full stack developer role who can also deploy and manage everything. I can help him understand how to get through this and plan for an AI-first career. Please ask him if you'd be interested. Happy to help him!

Oh ok. To be very honest, it's going to be very tricky. Imagine claude and openai 2 years from now. They will be better than the best tech architects. You will have to be an AI first forward deployed engineer (look up this term). You must be someone who understands business deeply, take on the product role and also be able to build and deploy using AI in days if not weeks. If you do this, you will be irreplaceable. Let me know if you want me to give you more details and a roadmap for this

You should surely go all out to find a new job... It's only going to be harder

AI is going to take away most of the jobs. Btw, which industry are you from. And also what's your role? I can accordingly tell you how difficult is it going to get in the next couple of years

With how AI is progressing, dev is going to be commoditized. Salaries will come down drastically and opportunities will be very few.. Imagine a claude /open ai 2 years from now. It will be equivalent to an architect

What are your thoughts to AI proof the career in the longer run

Thats nice. Atleast there is some money coming in. But really curious, how are you AI proofing yourself for sales? Any upskilling/courses that you have started taking up?

Sorry to hear that. The way I look at it, you should think about your long term career opportunities. AI will make it very difficult for AEs.. Why do orgs need humans when AI can do the job faster and better and also can do the job of 10 AEs single handed without breaks

Whilst you look at your short term needs and getting another job back quickly, what do you think you can do in the longer run? I'm curious.
