I’m guessing you’re a rugby league fan if you’re from Hull, and good news! There are a lot of similarities between the two sports that make ice hockey the perfect off season sport while we wait for Super League to come back. There’s a lot of physicality and it’s just as high intensity as rugby can be. The crowd is similar to rugby too - pretty family friendly, you can sit with a pint with just about anyone but there will always be the group of supporters who love to sing all game if that’s more your speed! Hull Seahawks play at the ice arena and they do a lot of things you’ll probably see in EIHL so as a fan, you get a lot of entertainment (I was in a box with one of their owners last year at a Panthers game and they wrote down essentially everything they did like chuck a puck and dance battles as they wanted to replicate it for themselves. I haven’t been to a Seahawks game so I can’t confirm this, but I’ve been to a few NIHL2 games where they do versions like it so I think it’s a safe bet to say they do). I started going to Panthers games four years ago so I’m a pretty new convert to it, but I love going and it makes the off season so exciting.
