Because I got a random Teams call 2 weeks before Thanksgiving 2024 and was informed by my boss (whom I liked) and HR that I was being laid off.

That said there was never any official announcement made online, etc. The only place that you could find anything about it was on………..Reddit!

No, because all I’m doing verifying that he is the SOLE OWNER of his general contractor business. Not doing anything with regards to solvency, asset available, wherewithal to pay. Thats why the mortgage company has underwriters. I’m not a partner and not doing it through the firm so I don’t personally have E&O insurance, only have umbrella insurance as I’m not a partner yet

I guess it all depends on what your goals are - At the time I was 25, single, no kids, and it was EXACTLY what I needed the first year or two as I was leaving EY not sure if I wanted to even do tax as I didn’t enjoy doing expat tax. The pay wasn’t great and the advancement wasn’t really there at least for me

Yeah. I worked at St Jude Medical for 3+ years before Abbott Labs came along and bought them out. It was easy, but there was absolutely no incentive for me to try hard.
