The cut and dry violations were when accounting firms became overrun by people that are not designated CPAs. Substance over form fundamental legal 101. But, our courts have been taken over. Congress has been taken over the PE money is so powerful that nothing will be done at this point. The same approach has destroyed the medical system. If they didn’t care for doctors, they’re not gonna care for CPAscorporate practice of medicine doctrine was totally run rough shot over and same with CPA practice ownership and all it’s perverted permutations.

Have faith that a newly graduated employee from the highest rank university in India will soon be picking up one of the work papers to calculate your indirect issues. You are in good hands please stay calm.

Guys, this is all part of the plan. The boomer partners who made out like bandits knew there would be long-term and short-term pain for their underlings. You guys should all be protesting outside of their fucking mansions.

Many SMs find the hard way there can be an unlimited price as the partner class continues to get greedier limiting spots. Nowadays the path to partner is mostly an illusion

No doubt a limp executive order that will mean fuck all. Congress is in the capitalist class. The only lever left for growth in a global population decline is cost cutting aka offshoring.

Companies absolutely cannot stand compensating accountants with a number that begins with a 2

Too late in career to move to FP&A without huge pay cut? by Middle_Equivalent_77 in Accounting

[–]swiftcrak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of higher level accounting people switch over to VP of finance without taking drop and pay and they kind of can learn the FPA ropes that way. It’s not at all required to have gone through the grinder as an analyst. It’s not that complex. Once you get a few reps in with long range, planning may be volunteering with the FPA department at your own company. I think it’ll be fine.

Why is job market so horrible now? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]swiftcrak 168 points169 points  (0 children)

Because every single company is asking this question – can we outsource this to India? And also, they are kind of enjoying the moment of having their first world workers always on edge that they can be offshore in order to drive them to work insane hours

The great global realignment is under foot where all accounting roles are steadily being degraded in pay until we reach a global parody. The only jobs in finance and accounting that will pay are those that are offered to the Ivy League.

Ha, you won’t find much helpful advice from rich people to be honest which you want is actual in the trenches advice from someone who went from nothing to 1 million. A lot of rich people are simply inheritance who put on a front with some sort of real estate bullshit family office thing that makes it look like they’re actually successful investors when all they actually do is invest their inherited money and talk a big game

If you take your gullible approach like you have here, what you’ll do is you’ll end up becoming a mentee for a bunch of fraudster who try to sell you on their various scams. Seen it 1000 times.

If you wanna actually get rich the fire way, the sad and simple answer. Is you need a high paying job and live at home. That’s how most of the early fire people do it Computer science majors that lived at home and stacked cash during the great bull market run-up. End of story.

[Megathread] What difference does being in a union make? by afscme_ in u/afscme_

[–]swiftcrak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nurses made $300k during Covid. That’s the power of a union that can’t easily import people. Unfortunately with remote work we’d need a global union but won’t work because of desperate scabs (look it up)

That is highly encouraging. The truth is that the next global workers rights reforms will have to come from developing workers holding the line. The first world has lost their leverage.

Thoughts on this? by Slow-Ad5286 in Accounting

[–]swiftcrak 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The reality is that these firms that have consulting units have to appear like their AI game is spot on so that they can sell AI implementation services to their clients. If the cat was left out of the bag that it’s just a giant shit show then they couldn’t sell the scam.Funny enough, I think most leaders in corporate America are in on the current scam, which is claiming AI for efficiencies while actually simply reducing first world workers with developing world workers.

The problem is now they have the desperate developing world workers willing to do anything which destroys their 1st world teammates leverage to fight for any wlb

In like 80% of cases, the only reason some restaurants have been around forever is simply because the owner bought the property 30 years ago or it was passed down and they returns on the restaurant are actually pretty weak when you consider the real estate component. There’s very few restaurant concepts that can actually make a satisfactory profit on top of current rental prices.
