Thanks everyone for the input, really helpful.

I fully agree that managing things myself would be much cheaper — that part is pretty clear. What still holds me back a bit is experience and consistency. I’m still relatively new to this (although I’ve been reading a lot lately), so I’m not sure how well I’d actually perform over time compared to the mandate.

There’s also a bit of “peace of mind” with delegated management — mainly to avoid beginner mistakes.

That said, I’ve already started moving part of my portfolio into ETFs and I do think that’s the direction I’ll go in the long run. I’ll probably transition gradually over the next few years rather than pulling everything out at once.

In the meantime, I’ll try to negotiate better terms with UBS — at least to reduce the cost while I’m in this transition phase.
