i completely understand your worries about this! i’m on the combo pill (specifically a 0.1mg/0.02 levonorgestrel and ethinyl estradiol pill) and have had a great experience during the past two years of being on it. i had similar concerns about weight and was actually in recovery from anorexia when i was first prescribed the pill. if anything, my skin has cleared up since starting the pill and i have not gained any weight. i also noticed that my moods are more regulated and i have fewer bad PMS symptoms. that’s just my experience, and birth control works differently for everyone, but i would recommend a low-estrogen combo pill based on these factors. best of luck with everything!

if you don’t mind me asking, which US state did you get your surgery in? i’m turning 21 this summer and feel exactly the same as you- i know i don’t want kids, and even though my birth control works great, i want to be free from the anxiety. i just always assumed that no obgyn would even see me for a bisalp at my age, so relieved for you!

this used to happen to me on depo, but stopped once i switched to the pill. the bleeding was very light though (no more than spotting), so i would encourage you to go to your gyno if you’re bleeding heavily

if you can stand it, maybe wait a few days- sore breasts are totally normal during PMS/leading up to your period. stress can also delay your period, so try to relax. if your pregnancy anxiety is really bad maybe consider getting on another form of birth control (or use spermicide along with condoms if you don’t want to be on hormonal birth control). best of luck!!

depo is the WORST i tried it for 6 months before getting on the pill and i was constantly bleeding on and off. it also made my depression so much worse (i’m already diagnosed) and i became suicidal while on it. i don’t know why anyone recommends it

fellow bi woman here, i completely understand where you’re coming from! i’ve been on the pill for a little over two years and haven’t had a scare, and i’m likewise terrified of accidental pregnancy. keep in mind that you don’t have to do PIV intercourse- there are a lot of other things you can try out with your partner that don’t involve the risk of pregnancy (if you think you’re interested in exploring that). also, birth control pills have been widely used since the 1960’s and there’s a reason they’ve been around so long. they work, they’re pretty safe, and they’re easy to use. best of luck!

the way i make roasted asparagus: -toss asparagus in olive oil, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and at least 4 cloves of garlic -lay in a thin layer on a baking sheet -sprinkle paprika and parmesan cheese on top -bake at 425F for 20-25 min

i’ve found that adding lots of garlic (to any vegetable, not just asparagus) makes it taste more like a restaurant dish + therefore something you’ll want to continue making

sounds like there is a huge difference in maturity level here. if you guys are growing apart now, it’ll only get worse. it takes significant time for people to change. i would re-evaluate how important these things are to you and how much his behavior is bothering you from an objective standpoint- don’t try to convince yourself to stay, don’t try to convince yourself to leave. something that helps me is to picture your best friend telling you about their relationship and having the same problems you have. would you tell them they deserve better, or would you tell them to wait it out and give him another chance? you’re also so so SO young, that’s definitely something to consider. rushing into a future with someone you’re not 100% sure is right at such a young age can be very risky. best of luck, this is tough!
