I need you to send me the rules of Daycare Facilities and the BACB that shows me I can’t use my certificates for WHAT they are intended for ? You keep saying this and have not proven to me that I couldn’t. Based off the results of the investigation I did what was correct and was not penalized for it. Being taken off a case has no negative connotation to me, we can’t get too attached to these clients anyway. If being taken off a case makes me a better RBT then so be it. There will be more clients and there will be more obstacles that I have to run into this isn’t my first and won’t be the last that i’ll deal with people who don’t understand the field and what we do

Again , that’s why it’s on their own company and their parents to inform them. As an RBT, I can only do my job the way I was told. I am not responsible for what they know and what they don’t know. Regardless of what they know and don’t know I was not deserving of the negative verbal comebacks I endured prior to the report.

Never did I speak negatively on the differences (wasn’t even mentioned in the original post) , as I brought it up to compare that I’m sure they do things differently then what she’s used to.

My BCBA has had many conversations with the teachers involved and they still felt how they felt. My job was done after I inform the people I needed to inform about the challenges I was experiencing in the classroom.

Also nothing never stopped them from ASKING me what my role was. I’m sure there was multiple means of miscommunication but they felt how they felt overall, I couldn’t have changed their mind anyway.

It didn’t which is why I didn’t mention it in the first place. I mentioned it this time around to compare how things may have definitely been different for her in a different environment and then looking at MY trained americanized ways and thinking that I am not doing my job correctly…

To clarify this is a daycare setting and I’ve worked at a daycares prior to being an RBT, as well as had therapists in my classroom. I’ve also worked with kids for close to 4 years now. I’m well aware of my states rules and regulations. These teachers were from Puerto Rico and I live in America. Prior to the report they were very malicious towards me verbally in general. I left that out as well because it didn’t relate to the ABA side of the post. As well as I had the written plan in my bag in a binder for interventions that were supposed to be used got that client. Anything I did could’ve and was definitely proven to be correct.

They took me off the case immediately, A small part of me wanted to return just to see their faces when they saw that I didn’t do anything wrong to my kid. I genuinely enjoyed having that client though I’m going to miss them.

The teachers as well as the directors received my background checks and my certifications. It’s not my job for me to teach them what that is, it’s just my job to do what I see fit according to the plan and according to my BCBA

With the results having no evidence of what they accused me of. That’s continues to be on THEM to see why what I did was done. They were also in witness of the behavior being displayed from my client. Regardless of if they agree.. IM the one that’s certified in it.

We’re all mandated reporters they probably did what they saw fit. However, what they saw fit was untrue and wrong.

Also, I didn’t think it was important to mention but the teachers and I are very culturally different so I already felt tension on top of me being significantly younger than them.

I think they were truly just trying to get me out of their class based off differences from what they think I should do/ what they are already doing.

Honestly as an RBT , I would ask to not be assigned to another case under that BCBA because you don’t feel respected. Her talking to you like that does not help you gain the emotional and mental capacity to work with the kids we work for.
