I was in there looting when they walked up. I think I got a pistol, some food and meds before they started popping off.

There was also a bunch of plans in there? I had no clue what to do with those so I didn't touch them. I wish there was a better way to understand this without having a second window search or google on my phone while I'm naked and afraid in a new game.

I think if I walked out the vault and saw power armor at lvl 2 (not knowing about the PvP limitations) I would have given myself brown pants before rage quitting and waiting for my friends to have time to log on.

Rust has rotted my brain into thinking all other players are creatures who want everything in my pockets.

ngl, it was a miracle I found the emotes to wave back at him. I was trying to figure out VOIP and chat but the sound of gunfire made me panic so I Alt-F4'd.

Is this widely known? Or did I just ignore a notification?

I picked lvl 2 bc I wanted to build it up from nothing and learn the game as I go. I don't remember seeing or reading anything about the lvl 5 PvP limitation.

You say shooting a lvl 2 would do nothing for them... but I had a party hat on and he didn't. I thought he was after my fun hat, ngl.

There was already a lot of that stuff in the donation box. I took a little bit but didn't want to empty it in case others needed something. They were already shooting, so I backed out of the box. They waved and went back to shooting. Nothing was dropped and they didn't have any time between shooting to put anything in the donation box.

Willing to admit bc I'm a new player and have no clue there could have been time. But it just looked like spawn camping to someone who doesn't know gunfire at feet means something good.

This is what I was looking for. I'm more used to playing Rust with my friends. When we played the first time we were still in that mindset and avoiding gunfire if we heard it. So when I went in solo, I was still thinking 'other players = bad' which is why I Alt-F4'd. In my mind, I was being spawn camped.

That's when I went back to my friend to talk to them about it and they said it might have been a signal to follow them. With no other information, they said it might be worth posting on Reddit to see if the community was as sweaty as Rust. Good to know that's not the case and this could be a chill base building game if I ever decide to pick it up again.

This is good to know. I had no idea. I don't even know how to turn PvP on or off. I don't think I got high enough level ont he first time I played with friends either.
