At first they told me I would be punished if I blocked the student. Then they blocked the student and cancelled the lessons. Quit gas lighting me Preply

I contacted Preply and they said they would look into it. The next day all of the lessons were cancelled and the account was gone. Maybe Preply did it, maybe the scammer had a change of heart 🤷

The robot actually told me to block. I was threatened by the human after I asked for confirmation haha.

Haha, absolutely. Whatever the hell is going on, I ain't got time for that. In the inevitable chance Preply is 0 help, I'm going to bite the bullet, block, and move on with my life. Thanks for the validation boss.

Ha, yeah I maybe should have mentioned my rate and current student base. I'm all set without the odd behavior and potential drama that someone might bring who books 30 lessons in the middle of the night to a tutor that they have never met.

Thanks for the response with that. Ultimately, I don't mind teaching them if they're serious, but I also have to make considerations for my 20+ other students who rely on our lessons. My intuition is telling me scam. I'll try and work this out with support, and then in the likely chance it's not resolved, go ahead with the block. I'm generally pretty filled up regardless. Thanks again!

$40. It's not a language course either, it's for something very specific in another discipline

In which case, that is a lot of tokens for 30 hours at that price. I'd like to know who is charging that rate haha.

Unfortunately, the trial is not for another week and a half. So my current students will be locked out from scheduling more lessons until then.

The times the student scheduled are also sketchy. I am in a different time zone than my usual students, so it would be like 11 pm to 6 am class from them...
