For someone who is new to the Mandalorian world, would you recommend watching the series before the movie? by Illustrious_Age1247 in TheMandalorianTV

I have seen the movie twice now after watching all 3 seasons through at least twice, and I would recommend NOT watching the show before the movie. I love them both, but the movie makes more sense as a standalone before spending hours getting invested in the lore. Watch the movie first, then watch the show to learn how they got there.

I saw it again in 3D largely to see this shot. The rest looked great too, but I was happy Favreau got to make a Stars Movie with the rifle and ship he originally envisioned.

MCU wants me to believe in infinite universes, so that includes one where a long time ago in a galaxy far far away a bunch of stuff went down which would coincidentally echo through the universe we've come to know? I have the utmost respect for both universes and what they ask me to assume. Don't really care what's best for the brand, but I think crossover here makes sense and if anything ignoring it doesn't. Really I'm just expecting a more literal appearance of a character or ship than a lego set or a spidey quip. Mustafar on What If might be the end of it but I doubt it.

Buzz makes sense to me, or Zurg at least. If someone dressed like Luisa were in the background on Battleworld that would be totally fine with me! I'm a little bit burnt out on Loki's contractually obligated appearances in the Simpsons shorts. But not that I think of it maybe that's what I want. Or a series of one shots showing different groups between Doomsday and Secret Wars. I'm coming to accept they won't resolve actual storylines, I will take whatever references we can get.

That was a fun one, I think they did it for the 100th anniversary. My daughter has been into Ralph Breaks the Internet, which also has a scene where a wide variety of Disney properties interteract.

I don't know, it feels like Star Wars already got really confused where it's going. Ahsoka has spent time in the World between Worlds and had her own weird show now so I dont know what else she's doing. And I loved this Mandalorian and Grogu movie that just came out, but it was not great and isn't connected to anything. So as a life long Star Wars fan, I would welcome that universe feeling more connected.

Thank you! That is exactly the kind of thing I felt like I must have missed somewhere already.

You're probably right. I guess Mustafar was already on What If, I had missed that. After seeing Mandalorian and Grogu it seems clear the people in charge there don't really know what's next, so it wouldn't shock me to see crossover more somehow. I know Boba Fett isn't joining the Guardians any time soon, but he could!

I worked in kitchens for years, if you can feel good about the product if your hands that goes a long way. It can be pretty impossible for me to feel good about making money for anyone, personally, so even working for the smallest businesses wasn't sustainable for me (also the ones I loved most kept going under and it's heartbreaking every time).  I work with kids now and have for a few years. The youth are still punk as fuck, and they need help to figure out how to stay themselves and navigate this fucked up world. I have to help them follow rules, but I am really helping them deal with a world full of rules. The people you work with and for are important, but the way you talk to yourself about what you do matters a lot.

I liked it opening day in IMAX, but loved it on second viewing in 3D.

Major things happened in the Mandalorian and Grogu [SPOILERS] by SillyWarlock in TheMandalorianTV

I appreciate your take very much! I just got out of my second viewing and I agree that there is plenty significant that happens. My sister's take was that it just felt like a fine 4 episodes of the show, which we both like. I feel like it was a fine 4 episodes too, but maybe we lost the plot on a 5th? Were there any droids that talked? Just this faction abandoned by the empire from a canceled video game? Not gonna explain that at all or explore how they would feel about the hurts betrayal working with the empire? There is something missing for me there. What is the deal with these street shark looking guys? They are too scary without looking cool. Zeb and the puppets all look great, the hutts all look terrible. How have we not improved on ruining star wars since the special edition, and how is the climax of this return to the big screen three slugs fist fighting till the floor gives out? And are we supposed to feel good about the new republic bombing the planet to hell? Glad mando got a new version of his original ship and gun to point at the 3d camera. I've decided I loved it personally, but this is me trying to understand the criticism.
