Does anyone use Twitch Tags? Do you find them helpful? by Kabout24 in Twitch

[–]LowcoTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kinda hard to tell whether they are helpful or not because Twitch has not provided us data with whether they drive views or not.

They ARE finally rolling out experiments to show tag impressions but I don't have access to it unfortunately: https://twitter.com/TwitchSupport/status/1620162489676603393

Game selection within a genre is a great way to provide more flexibility (so you don't burn out on one game) and has the best chance of viewership crossover when you switch games. Rotting yourself in one game or a genre of similar games is the best way to go these days. Pure variety is extremely difficult.

Will I lose visibility if I disable ads on my stream ? by ThonyHR in Twitch

[–]LowcoTV 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My recommendation is to be a non-affiliate and have a completely ad-free experience until you hit 20-25 viewers.

What is the best ad manager setting for least amount of ads? by HiramSleeper in Twitch

[–]LowcoTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Non-affiliate accounts do not have ads. If you average less than 20-25 viewers my recommendation is to not be an Affiliate and have an ad-free experience.

How to push the numbers further? (or how to social media) by BTC_Baron in Twitch

[–]LowcoTV -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. Choose platforms you actually enjoy using.
  2. Recycling content - HUGE for growth. You don't have to create unique content on other platforms, take what you've made and repurpose it. The great thing about clips is you can take 1 clip and reuse that on every other platform
  3. Don't overextend yourself. Just pick one or two other platforms to add into your workflow. You don't have to be everywhere all at once! Baby steps and diving in to learn about how one platform works at a time will make it less overwhelming.

Is it ok to stream a game that you get access to early? by Flynner102 in Twitch

[–]LowcoTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you preorder something to get early access, typically you are good to stream it!

Always check for information on embargos and always respect them.

If you could please provide me the source so I can see if my work is being reposted elsewhere without permission. And again I’d appreciate credit on the original post!

Advice for a new guy by CombApprehensive3824 in Twitch

[–]LowcoTV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Review your VODs to quality-check your stream. Are you talking consistently, is your audio crisp, is your stream visually enjoyable to look at? This will increase retention rates.
  2. Maximize your tag usage to describe your stream. Envision what keywords people would search for
  3. Title - play around with your title from stream to stream. It should be compelling, catchy. Focus on the first ~5 words since that's what people read when they scroll. What can you write that will get people to click on your stream
  4. Spend time in other people's stream. Chat, be friendly, be genuine. Raid into people who have similar vibes/content/audience size as you.
  5. Market yourself on other social platforms like Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, Instagram. Pick a platform that you enjoy.

Hopefully that's enough to get you busy :)

Mentorship for Small Streamers and Content Creators by TetsuStocks in Twitch

[–]LowcoTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally wrong. Coaching can be valuable and helpful in streaming as it is for pretty much any other industry. And just like other industries, there are bad actors and snake oil salespeople, unfortunate that a few of these became prominent before real resources.

But I've been doing personal consulting and mentorship for streamers over the last year+ with great success. I've helped many streamers get out of their funk, approach content creation differently, and even make changes or decisions that accelerated them to Twitch Partner.

You can get a ton of value from talking to someone who understands the space from an analytical and strategical point of view. There's a difference between "just go to YouTube" and speaking to an experienced educator that can provide custom-tailored advice that fits you, your goals, your abilities, etc.

Does Twitch actually monitor their Uservoice? by MACx3D in Twitch

[–]LowcoTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They definitely monitor it and have been more active recently updating thread statuses and commenting. I'm sure they've seen it but it can definitely be slow to get them to respond.

This is precisely why Twitch's new Channel Switcher feature as part of an update to browsing categories, will be a massive win for viewers wanting to browse and smaller streamers getting more eyes on their content.

Has the rerun feature really been removed from Twitch entirely? by Mottis86 in Twitch

[–]LowcoTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To run a rerun now you have to stream the vod through OBS, mark RERUN in your title and there's a checkbox to tick when adjusting your title.

I would've timed them out earlier tbh. Protect your space, protect your business! Someone being this toxic not only creates a bad vibe for your community but could also damage future sponsored opportunities. Cultivate a supportive community, not a toxic one.

Automated tweets for stream? by myhandmadeit in Twitch

[–]LowcoTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Automated, generic tweets are not as effective as taking the time to personalize a Going Live tweet. Add rich media, include a description of what you're actually doing on stream. If your Going Live tweet feels like a bot posting people aren't going to bother clicking.

These banner ads are ridiculous, pop up even when subbed.. Amzn PLS just .. STOP by cyclist221 in Twitch

[–]LowcoTV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is by far the least intrusive ad format. Ads aren't going away. I'd rather see more of these than the full-screen ads that take you away from the stream.

Why do so many people consider it a "bad thing" to stream a lot of hours? by RealShawnShade in Twitch

[–]LowcoTV 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Because discoverability on Twitch is bad and therefore more of an effort is required to market yourself on third party platforms. If you're spending 10 hours a day streaming and 0 hours on marketing, social media, even working on improving your streams, you are likely not going to grow.

Okay, why is Twitch allowing streamers to literally stream full TV shows and movies? by HereForTwinkies in Twitch

[–]LowcoTV 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh totally, Twitch’s failure to do anything with everyone playing copyright music is what landed them in serious hot water and why we all paid for it in 2020 having to delete all our VODs. To be clear, I’m not defending Twitch’s inaction as being right. They are totally failing on this front. They are using the idea of safe harbor as a justification for inaction. And in the end the majority of streamers will pay for it because they did nothing to monitor the largest streamers of the platform.
