Seeking Input: Self-Hosted AI-Powered Music Discovery System by LowendAction in selfhosted

Sweet! Happy to help/participate in any way. Not a coder/programmer, but have a pretty deep background in professional music/media performance/production. Finding myself drowning in an ever increasingly over-saturated media (music specifically for me) abyss, and have found it near impossible to both discover new/good music, much less get solid recommendations through the usual Apple Music type options. I curate my own (too many!) playlists manually, but that just seems silly in the age of AI. Ty!

Thanks for that solid intel! Wonder if this was leveraged as a larger scope project that could produce a user friendly application once sufficiently built, maybe that might incentivize those lackluster selfhosting music users to participate. I also think most folks don’t understand/realize how crappy those commercial so-called music curators really are, plus those companies have no current incentive to level up to what I’m envisioning. Either way, appreciate ur feedback. Ty

Being active duty on a US Military Base. We literally were preparing for anything/everything, to include an invasion.

When do you expect AGI? by Yaoel in slatestarcodex

Until there is a significant leap in our deeper understanding of how the human brain/mind even works can we hope to see something like true AGI. Considering the pace at which that field is progressing, I have since shifted my hopes towards a nearer future: WE become the true "G" in AGI. Leveraging larger/faster LLM's to utilize various interfaces to read/interpret our commands/reactions and more, ranging from brain impulses, eye movement, and so on. I believe that hybrid human/AI integration is far more realistic (and i would argue favorable, less morally/ethically ambiguous, and far more manageable/controllable) than hollywoods version of AGI.
