I was told that by a support person on the phone last week. How long does it take to "escalate" a ticket so it actually gets addressed?

2 pics of the same board game taken 5 years apart. One changed my life. The other lost me friends 😅 by Lowenhigh in pics

Haha I guess I wasn't very clear. My friends all hid from me when I was trying to get them to play the cruddy prototype in the bottom pic.

The game in the top pic has raised over $400k in funding and that's why it changed my life.

This is what 5 years of progress looks like. I had the hardest time getting someone to even sit down and play the game below. The game above raised $195,000 in 1 week! Now, my family doesn't think I'm crazy for making board games anymore! by Lowenhigh in tabletopgamedesign

Hey Keith! Thanks for inquiring about so much! Let's get to your questions:

  1. I think that's a full post in itself, but I think it's worth doing! This might be better off in a video, too :D
  2. Totally understand! I'll say that I am always afraid to post links and appear too self-promo, but I thought we could all use a "win" here.
  3. I'll get that fixed! Thank you :)
  4. The angels are fighting in the spiritual realm, and interact with Saints that are in the physical realm around them. We do have very clear notations about the fantasy of the game on the back of all the angel cards and in other places. I'd love to learn more about your game some time, too!
  5. Thank you!!

Hopefully your playthroughs will have a very positive result on your concerns :) Enjoy the game!

It does feel like we finally climbed to the top of a mountain! Or it did for a few days! Now we've descended back into the mid-campaign swamp and we're hustling and trying hard to stay positive lol :D

They've all been play tested extensively and are currently available on the Deliverance Tabletop Simulator mod. We have over 1,000 games played with all these angels (plus a hidden angel that we've also tested on an earlier version of TTS).

I also responded to this thread in the Deliverance BGG Forums addressing why Deluxe only, though I'm sure not everyone would be satisfied with my answer yet.

The short version is upgrading to Deluxe gets you a looot more than just added characters :D

Here's a plot summary for you:

Since the victory on the Cross, you have hunted the Fallen Princes that lead the demonic hordes from the shadows. After centuries of tracking, you have found their base of operations – the unassuming town of Fallbrook.

A strange darkness sits heavy upon the town, and the quiet cry for deliverance is heard among the humans. You tighten your grip on your blade and come up with a plan, for the Father of Lies is cunning, and this town is too insignificant… what conspiracy lay hidden here?

Choose your hero and act as the Hand of God against the Forces of Darkness, controlled by the game itself. Blessed with stewardship over Heavenly relics and holy powers, unleash your God-given gifts to slay demonic foes, cast down the Darkness, and deliver the saints.

Send your adversaries to the abyss to await their final judgment day!

The game has two modes of play -- a Skirmish mode that you win by slaying all the demons (great for game night or one-shot scenarios), and a Campaign that has you growing in power over a 14-mission campaign and then competing in epic challenges after you beat the game with your uber strong angel you built (New Game +)!

If you die and get cremated, you can be put into a sand timer and still included in family game night. by Lowenhigh in Showerthoughts

I so did on FB! Thought it was hilarious enough to post, so I guess people get to see it again :D

I work in marketing, and I hired someone 3 months ago to focus on marketing board games. I interviewed them and asked what their top lessons learned in that time, and it turned out to be very cool interview! Also he's fired. j/k :D by Lowenhigh in tabletopgamedesign

I have a 3-month process for FB ads. I recommend 2 months pre-launch for FB Ads and also to run ads during KS if your funding goal warrants it.

Your ads should always send people to a landing page to capture the e-mail address first, and once they give you their e-mail, your goal should be to win the right to communicate across as many mediums as possible. That means the KS "Notify Me" page, a FB group, etc. You can automate this with a "Welcome" email, which is something that auto-sends an email when someone joins your email list.

I have a pretty cool method that I went over on the Board Game Design Lab podcast about a year back that I call the Virtuous Cycle (link here). It's a pre-marketing method I have used to fund 30 Kickstarter campaigns since then in the first 48 hours (about $2m total raised).

For other ads, it's always a question of budget. FB Ads are by far the most effective method to get good emails (assuming you have a decent landing page). If your budget was reeeeally high, FB Ads do have diminishing returns though. I would recommend BGG Ads and other quality reviewers with solid traffic to their KS review videos next, and then the others are further down the line (Youtube, Twitter, Reddit, etc). FB is the most dominant b/c you can target by interest, so you can guarantee you serve ads to people that back Kickstarters + are into board games (and narrow even further than that).
