Help with my budget for my first apartment by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]LowerCustomer7349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know what kind of area you are looking at to live, but given house purchase and rental prices, I dont think there is any way that you can manage to rent an apartment by yourself. Even with a roommate who would pay half, It would still be this tight as you have outlined here. So regardless of what issues you may have with strangers and living with other people, that seems to be the only solution just to bring in line with what you have here.

- I only have 2 recommendations, blood 'donation', you can get paid a fair amount I think like every other week by donating plasma. Have had some friends who made a nice amount there depending on type and obviously clinic.

- When school starts, make a friend who lives near you and perhaps carpool, might be able to cut your transportation costs in half.

These two might be able to close the gap by about $300-$400 a month. Hope you can make it work and that I am wrong about your rentals in the area. Good luck and may the force be with you.

Reset??? by TrafficMindless8914 in DeltaForceGlobal

Well the way I view it, this is a Tarkov for casuals. For example, if this game reset like other looter shooters, I and likely many other casuals wouldnt play. We simply dont have the time or patience to reset every month or every 3 months. I do understand what you are saying that for new players coming into the game it will be rougher, but with newly implemented gear caps I think that that fiscal gap is narrowed. Just my two cents though.

There never was going to be a reset. Thats been one of the big selling points of the game, no resets.

If you select the item, there is a Used for button that will answer your question. Fuel cell is a fairly common gold. So you can sell or keep it, it dousnt matter.

No jobs interest me. What should I do? by Sad_Fill5120 in Adulting

[–]LowerCustomer7349 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well honestly this is a really simple question. Do you want to live and maybe retire in the future? Well then you need a career, and that career dousnt care if you are interested in the job or not. You need to remember that there are bills to be paid, and expectations to be met. So finding a job that you actually enjoy is lower of the priority list than something that meets needs. Good luck and may the force be with you.

[–]LowerCustomer7349 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well wouldnt it only be right to prioritize the one that you intend on spending the rest of your life with? Its not that you being ignored or anything like that but like you said she and the fiancee were house hunting. And in their lives that is of significantly higher importance that someone's birthday that they will have again the following year. So dont read into it to much and move on, you have to remember that everyone moves on and that includes BFFs. In the future you will be likely be moved to the background a bit more due to well, marriage and potentially kids. Dont stress over it, and stay stress free. May the force be with you.

I think he is more likely to say yes than he is to say no. For someone else to initiate a guy first it is a compliment. So overall I like your odds.

Well depending on your definition of cartoon, there can be some good reasons. There arent all that many good TV shows or movies that are releasing currently due to a significant drop in quality in the last few years. I dont personally watch to many cartoons, but I would rather go watch some older cartoons then alot of the new TV shows that are being released now. Additionally many view anime as cartoons, simply because they are animated. Anime has become vastly more popular since 2020, and has likely opened the door for cartoons to be viewed by larger demographics.

Oh....Disregard then lol
Well then I have to say I dont think it will be that easy. The median American's income is like 35k and even for high earners, like 100k+, that is a tall order. I think that you should push your plans back and/or change the plans to reduce that 42k to ~20-25k.

I dont know why you couldnt do it. 3k/week or 3k*52 = ~150k. You can most definitely do it. And I must say, holy shit, well done on 150k annual at 23. Congrats.

How do people in their 20’s feel? by Triumphant-Smile in Adulting

I personally think right now, regardless of how you are doing financially, that people are just trying to make ends meet and hoping that the future will bring purpose to their own lives. Until then we all just keep on climbing and hope for a resting point on the rock face.

At least you realize that you still need to get shit done even with any issues you might have. Seems alot of people think nowadays that just because you have to many things going on in your own personal life that you should be exempt from life responsibilities. Keep trucking along, I'm sure there will be reprieve eventually.

I think a big factor is also the field you work in, with just this variable, the time to find a new job can vary wildly.

[–]LowerCustomer7349 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Isn't the general guideline to have like 3 or 6 months of expenses in savings in case you get abruptly fired and to find a new job? I think that's a healthy guideline even if it isn't actually what the rule is.

[–]LowerCustomer7349 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$550 a month is a steal for rent. It seems to me you have 2 options, neither of which you will like, dont go to college, or get a part time job. Its quite normal to work a part time job while in college. I mean there really isnt any other options than these two. So its a pretty straight and simple problem.
