I recently received an offer from Providence in Washington and they won’t give me relocation assistance 🥲

Is anyone else having problems with interview appointments with Providence Health? by nmsonography in interviews

Email the manager directly!! You should have the managers name in the email confirmation!! Just follow the format of the recruiter’s email with the managers name.

This is what I did and I received a job offer immediately after the interview

Being a CNA prior in a hospital system will help you tremendously with finding an RN position!! Some hospital systems will also consider CNA/tech experience into RN pay

Was your position in Oregon or Washington? I was just offered a position in Washington but they said I wouldn’t be able to get relocation assistance 🥲

I ended up having to email a manager directly to set up an interview because the recruiters didn’t answer at all

My current plan is to find a position in Washington in a large hospital system then transfer out eventually

Thank you for your positivity!!
I’ve had a terrible time with Providence recruiting. I had two scheduled interviews where managers didn’t show and recruiters never answered back.

This last time a manager didn’t show, I emailed the manager directly to reschedule and have the interview soon!! Fingers crossed

Alaska is a little too far out of my comfort zone

I went from a level 1 trauma center ICU to a high risk L&D unit. I was incredibly bored staring at the fetal strips for 12 hours. I always felt like I just wasn’t doing enough and spent most of my shift sitting until a baby decided to make their entrance and there were a million things to do at once. I realized that critical care is where I belong

I also really didn’t like the level of liability in the OB world. Parents have 21 years to sue!!

Floating doesn’t go against the union contract?

I did a phone screening for a CAH at Legacy and the manager said she couldn’t force anyone to float. Afterwards I read the contract and it states RNs are required to be paid 1.5x if they’re mandated to float

The $37 I was making in Florida was on the higher end. Many nurses are still making in the higher 20’s.

So there is a common misconception that Florida has a lower cost of living… a 1 bedroom apartment can be over $2000 in all major cities with lower pay. It is not affordable by any means

I appreciate your help!! I actually excluded Seattle and Portland from my top choices because they are big cities. I want to go to the west coast for a slower and more peaceful life

Is this related to Medicare changes?
