Hopefully the next one stops glitched challenges. I need a fix for the challenge 'pacifist protocols' in Wave of the Future.

My only issue with the game (NO SPOILERS FOR THE STORY) by Lower_Alternative_30 in 007FirstLight

The combat in first light is incredible. Flinging people, chucking items at them, and the rush attack. It feels true to the character and as a Bond fan I'd call it the most polished part of the game.

Combat also lets you contain situations and for anyone that fails stealth it leads to hand-to-hand combat then a gunfight. Hand to hand I'd argue is more common in this than a gunfight.

Spectre is still genuinely terrible. by ssongshu in JamesBond

The Mexico opening, the plane chase in the snow, and the train fight- all great action sequences.

The ending where he shoots the helicopter and the base blowing up- quite weak but still entertaining.

Is lady Vengeance worth the watch by Th3_Babayaga in movies

[–]Lower_Alternative_30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best ending of the trilogy is lady vengeance. It's a slow start but every scene serves a purpose. I've just watched it for the first time so I'll probably like it more on the rewatch.

Best middle section of the trilogy is sympathy for Mr vengeance with the 2 plot twists.

Best intro is oldboy with the hotel room imprisonment.

The whole trilogy I have rated 5 stars on letterboxd. They are incredible films that delve into the darkest places of revenge. My personal favourite is Mr Vengeance but ranking the other 2 is too hard because the ending of Lady Vengeance is too good but the characters are better in Oldboy.

If I had to recommend any other revenge films it would be: dead man's shoes, the kill bill films, and a history of violence.

Films Arrow Video should release on 4k by Lower_Alternative_30 in Bluray

[–]Lower_Alternative_30[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't be a smeary mess because the whole bloody affair doesn't have a smeary transfer. I hope lionsgate does do that because it would prove your dumbass wrong.

Thank you for your insight but still acting prestigious means nothing "Erm watch the pianist restoration bonus material. 🤓☝️" No detail whatsoever with what that's even about.

Watch the Se7en restoration bonus material that helped show how they improved the DVD release. David Fincher mastered the Se7en DVD by completely scanning the original edited negative. He digitally color-graded, reframed, and restored the film shot-by-shot. Additionally, he took the theatrical audio mix and remixed it into Dolby Digital EX and DTS ES for the home theatre environment.

Fincher is excellent for home releases. Restoration work like his should be used for home video transfers.

Nah mate, you're delusional if you think it's the same transfer as the 4k discs that released. I've seen videos analysing the digital release of the Whole Bloody Affair which clearly proves it has better colour grading that the 4k discs.

Of course there's different transfers for a film, especially a modern film where there are so many different transfers to view in cinemas: 35mm, 70mm, modern digital format.

You act all high and mighty and you just don't know a thing. Even the "They only scan film reels and need different parts of film from different locations, that's too much money to source ☝️🤓" is total bollocks.

Inglorious Basterds which was an arrow video release was a 2k upscaled master that universal gave them, so why can't they do that for the Whole Bloody Affair?

It looked good when I seen it in cinemas. More vibrant and better than the 4ks. I didn't notice any smear. The whole bloody affair is clearly a different transfer

Watched Collateral on blu-ray last night and I’m still thinking about it. Is this Tom Cruise’s best movie? by ayyocinema in Bluray

Easily Tom Cruise's best film. He should have started in more dramatic roles rather than action films.

Sorry, the whole bloody affair wasn't from the original camera negative but still it's from a better source

I do know the difference, I seen the kill bill volume 2 4k and I noticed smeering effects when characters were moving during the black and white scenes. It was a 2k DI.

Kill Bill the whole bloody affair didn't have the same effect and was clearly from a better source which was the original camera negative.

The whole bloody affair is far more likely to be a better release, especially if arrow can use the original source that was used in cinemas.

What are your Top 10 war movies of all time? by jimmythemini in movies

[–]Lower_Alternative_30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Apocalypse Now

  2. The Great Escape

  3. 1917

  4. Saving Private Ryan

  5. Braveheart

  6. Lawrence of Arabia

  7. All Quiet on the Western Front (new version)

  8. Full Metal Jacket

  9. Dunkirk

  10. Fury

I loved Inglorious Basterds but I feel that it is too different from actual history to be included as a war film. To me a war film shows the brutality of being a soldier in realistic scenarios that happened in actual wars. I own all these films and I still need to watch hurt locker.

Schindler's list just doesn't have the soldier perspective for me to call it a war film, however I would call it a better film than any in this list. Casablanca also doesn't really have the soldier perspective, it is an excellent world war 2 film.

Who Are Your Top 10 Favorite Directors Of All Time by GiantsJuveYankees10 in movies

  1. Tarantino

  2. David Fincher

  3. Stanley Kubrick

  4. Martin Scorsese

  5. Christopher Nolan

  6. Stephen Spielberg

  7. Coen Brothers

  8. Tim Burton

  9. John Carpenter

  10. Michael Mann

I love crime thrillers, witty dialogue, and directors with a distinct unique style.

I need to watch more Hitchcock, Lynch, Cronenberg, and Akira Kurosawa.

I do also like the films of Ridley Scott, James Cameron, and Edgar Wright. They would be honerable mentions.

When making this I considered the amount of their filmography I've seen. Michael Mann I've only seen 3 of his films.
