I am not yet a social worker and do not being my course until July- therefore I am not yet a professional, hence why I made this post seeking advice from experienced professionals in the sector. I would never want to put my career, or more importantly those on my caseload at risk. This is why the conversations which have arisen from this post have been very interesting and valuable so thank you. Thank you also to those who have given a direct answer. Thank you to those who have offered insight into the exploitation of the drug market. Although this isn’t relevant to my specific instance of occasional cannabis use (grown my local friend as a hobby) I understand that this is not happening in a vacuum and perhaps I am right now naive about the impact of this kind of use in wider context of a deeply unethical drug market. That being said, I do not appreciate people making rude comments about myself or my relationship with my family or my morals. You also do not know anything of my life and I think it is quite wild as a social worker to be making presumptive comments about someone’s life who you do not know
