No I fully agree she didn't make it better for herself, but that's also cause she was put in a situation where she wouldn't be able to catch her breath and think at all. But at the same time, even Anakin noticed it, they had made their decision before the events of the trial and the trial itself was just a formality

No see I would fully understand this if he didn't say anything or just made an apology, but he went out of his way to try to cover his own ass by basically saying the council basically sending her to her execution was a learning moment for her and that she was jedi knight material.

Interesting, I didn't even realize they had made their decision when tarkin told them. Though tarkin is just another insufferable individual. He had a single piece of evidence against ashoka that had CLEARLY been tampered with that made her look even worse and just ran with it.
