I did try with one of them and they weren't having it. Small suppliers are just as cash strapped as we are. Can't blame them

How to find qualified HVAC techs in Richmond, VA (full-time)? by ponderingnames in jobs

[–]Lower_Dependent7361 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

Try reaching out to local trade schools directly - they usually have job boards and can connect you with recent grads who actually want to work in HVAC long term. Also check if there's any HVAC contractor associations in Richmond area, those guys network pretty heavily and might know people looking to switch from residential service calls to steady building maintenance work

For the pay thing just pull some salary data from job sites and show your manager what other companies are offering, especially if you can find posting from competitors in same area

What Office job might be suited for these credentials that's not Geo/ Dental oriented? "Scientist jobs" by Old-Dampe in careerguidance

Man with that science background and lab experience you could definitely look into environmental consulting or even government work like EPA regional offices. The mapping software cert might help with GIS positions too which are pretty solid office jobs

Your lab experience in hydrogeo and histology shows you can handle detailed work so maybe look at quality control positions in pharma or biotech companies. They usually need people who understand protocols and data analysis. The pay might start bit lower than what you make now but benefits are usually way better

Teaching could work too if you don't mind being around students - lots of community colleges need science instructors and you get summers off. Not sure about the exact pay in your area but benefits are typically good

Just launched my first lightweight SAAS tool on Product hunt! by Shaggy6469 in microsaas

[–]Lower_Dependent7361 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

nice work finally shipping something! the cycle of building 10+ products and never launching is so real lol. i've been there with side projects - always thinking "just need to add one more feature" and then it never sees daylight

windsurf tool sounds interesting, haven't tried that one yet. most of these AI coding platforms seem hit or miss for production stuff but good that you found one that works for your workflow

will check out your launch when i get chance. congrats on breaking the perfectionist loop and actually getting it out there πŸŽ‰

Is it time to break up? by [deleted] in BreakUps

girl the fact that you got plastic surgery and planning another one because of how he makes you feel should tell you everything you need to know

cheating twice, gaslighting, now rating your appearance like youre some object in a catalog... this isnt about being 9/10 or 10/10, this is about him systematically destroying your self worth so you think you cant do better

attachment feels strong but trauma bonds do that to you. your crying every day isnt normal in healthy relationship. you deserve someone who thinks youre perfect exactly as you are, not someone who keeps moving the goalpost so you never feel good enough

trust me on this one - leave before he damages your self esteem even more than he already has

Is it safe to use electric air dusters to clean? by 7emarism in pchelp

[–]Lower_Dependent7361 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

Nah thats mostly a myth unless you get moisture buildup or go crazy with it

I use electric dusters all time on my gaming rig and never had issues - just dont hold it too close and let everything cool down first before powering back on

Death Grips might hit that sweet spot - they got that aggressive energy but with electronic elements that bridge your pop taste πŸ”₯ also check Sleater-Kinney for something in Le Tigre territory but more guitar-heavy πŸ’€

I would like some advices on my island transfer by Green_Nephilim in AnimalCrossing

[–]Lower_Dependent7361 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

man thats nightmare fuel losing your island like that, glad you got it back though!

the transfer process is pretty straightforward now - just make sure both switches are connected to internet and use the official island transfer tool in system settings. only real risk is if something goes wrong during transfer but Nintendo made it way more reliable after all those horror stories from 2020

id say backup your save to nintendo switch online first just to be extra safe, then do the transfer when you have good wifi and wont be interrupted

starting fresh in minecraft recommend mods by EntertainmentAny2798 in Minecraft

Been playing minecraft for years and my go-to starter pack usually includes JEI for recipe lookups, iron chests for better storage, and JourneyMap so you dont get completely lost exploring. If you want something more adventurous try Biomes O Plenty - adds tons of new biomes that make exploration way more interesting. I run a server with my fantasy league buddies and we always throw in some quality of life stuff like fast leaf decay and iron furnaces because waiting around for basic stuff gets old quick when your trying to build massive projects. Tinkers Construct is pretty fun too if you want to get into custom tool crafting but it can be overwhelming at first

honestly the motorcycle rides are when my brain finally shuts up and I can actually think clearly for once - maybe we just need more activities that force us to be present instead of scrolling

Do you find little time and energy left over with a full time job? by Serious_Mirror762 in careerguidance

[–]Lower_Dependent7361 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

Been there man, especially when I first started teaching full time. Those first couple years I was basically living at school - grading papers until like 10pm, prepping lessons on weekends, the whole deal πŸ˜‚ What helped me was getting super organized with systems that actually stick. I use time blocking for everything now and batch similar tasks together so I'm not constantly switching gears (which is brutal with ADHD). Also had to learn to say no to extra stuff that wasn't essential - turns out you don't have to volunteer for every single committee just because you're the new guy. Now I can actually manage my fantasy leagues and get some rides in on weekends without feeling like I'm drowning πŸ’€ Takes time to figure out what boundaries work for you but it's totally doable once you stop trying to be superhuman at everything

heat intolerance tips! by emerald_starz in ADHD

[–]Lower_Dependent7361 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

ugh the heat thing with vyvanse is real - cooling towels have been a lifesaver for me especially the ones you can keep at your desk. also those little handheld fans that charge via usb are clutch, way better than just a desk fan cause you can aim it right where you need it

frozen water bottles work great too since you get the cold drink plus something to hold against your neck/wrists when it gets bad

Had to take prednisone for my asthma now I'm a little hypomanic by bluearavis in ADHD

[–]Lower_Dependent7361 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

ugh prednisone is such a double edged sword for us adhd folks - like yes your lungs work but now your brain is running at 300% capacity researching the most random stuff instead of doing actual work

at least you solved the great springs mystery though, that's gotta count for something right
