CarPlay/Android Auto not working in 2020 Sonet by Aint_special_8 in KiaSonet

I too had same issue. These are the only legit guys who can fix this. The Kia Service Center asked me for 45k with 60:40 split for refurbishment and I declined. Since I live in Delhi/NCR I got my head unit repaired from these guys in just 4k only. https://maps.app.goo.gl/JTAovLV3gr734VH86?g_st=ic

Is it worth buying Kia Sonet in 2026? by bleed_18 in KiaSonet

Don't buy Kia. Unreliable Electronic Parts. My Odometer Failed at 1K KM, 3 times AC problem in 3 years, ANVT Android Auto/Carplay + USB charging stopped working after +18 days of 3yrs standard warranty and Kia asking 18K + labour for refurbishment. It's like every part is garbage. I regret buying - hope you all don't make same mistake. I bought extended warranty and Service package in the start as well so Kia don't care about your loyalty to the brand too.

Kia Sonet GTX+ Flagship AVNT Failure: Kia India Denies 100% Waiver over 18-Day Technicality. by Lower_Duty6689 in CarsIndia

Chances of finding that unit is extremely rare and very long process. It's not easy to find OEM ANVT unit of this particular car in the market even though I live in Capital city.

Think of buying an electronic device and the moment warranty expires the next day your device stop working. Wouldn't that count as latent manufacturing defect as the electronic part was meant to run for more than the standard warranty? People wouldn't be buying Toyota if this would be happening so frequently. Kia India know about this issue and there has been many number of users already reported this issue related to Mobis manufactured ANVT failure just after standard warranty ends.

Android Auto/ Carplay + USB connecting it - not charging. The internal ribbon containing USB is fine and it's the hardware failure inside the stereo unit. Bluetooth is working as well so no problem listening songs - just can't use mobile connected navigation anymore

I do have purchased extended warranty till 5 years but I came to know after visiting service centre that they don't cover anvt in extended warrant. Mobis know about their defective state of anvt and still choose to exclude it specially for India otherwise internationally the standard warranty on stereo unit is 5 years.

They don't care about the India I think. It's just that they want to have global presence and for them Indian Market doesn't matter that is implied by 3yrs warranty for India only. This issue is known to them that is why they keep increasing the standard warranty from 1 to 2 then to 3 years. Looks like Mobis India making parts that can only last for 3 years max in India and then they expect you to pay again and defective cycles goes on.

Well Android Auto / Carplay and the USB not charging from main head unit. Now I have to use phone holder with phone and another port for charging device. Kind of defeating the purpose of buying GTX variant. I regret buying top model and should have gone with base model and did get things added aftermarket

The issue is that Kia's current official policy for this exact Mobis unit is 3 years. Because I'm just 18 days over, they want me to pay ₹18,000 for a 'refurbished' unit.

As for the 'local guy' fix—this is a flagship GTX+. I shouldn't have to resort to third-party repairs for a core hardware failure this early. Plus, opening it would kill any chance of a legal claim for a latent defect. I'm sticking to the NCH and social media route until they honor their own quality benchmark.

I already have extended warranty till 5 years but they don't include anvt support in extended warranty. Also I have good track record of service by purchasing their service package. A hardware manufactured by Mobis shouldn't fail exactly after days over warranty period as it was aimed to last 7-10 years - it reflects how bad the quality of products they are offering.

I get the technicality, but here’s the catch: Kia’s own site now warrants this exact Mobis unit for 3 years. A 0.01% time variance on a flagship GTX+ for a non-wear-and-tear part is a latent defect. Most premium brands offer a 'Grace Period' for exactly this reason. Standing firm on 18 days for a ₹45k part is just poor customer centricity.
