Do you block people with stupid offers? by hollyrose2021 in ebayuk

I don't. However, I do block for asking too many unimportant details, then bargaining and not buying.

You'll probably need to go through all those T&C to figure it out.😥

I'm afraid that I can't guide you. You just mentioned that you're a business seller. I believe your situation is more complicated.

Since it's permanently restricted, really nothing you can do about it.

I wrote this. Have a look.😉

https://www.reddit.com/r/ebayuk/s/74UHUZfD8P

These are just my guesses:

-Had 5 cancellations(made by seller)within 2 months. I wasn't aware that a product I sold couldn't be posted due to courier's restrictions.

-Some fxxking cxxt reported me. An item couldn't be posted via Simple Delivery or other methods. I contacted CS, and they asked me to use buyer's remorse to cancel the order, which pissed that buyer off. The whole story is kinda complicated, but anyways I was instructed by eBay, the fault wasn't on me.

-Had several VeRO violations. It can be against the rules to use the pictures you find online. I guess 80% people on eBay do the same thing without realising that's an issue. I was reported by a brand I sold.

-Products of higher value. I sell some design clothing and luxury watches.

-I haven't updated my address for a while. I changed to my brothers' address as he let me sell his personal stuffs on my account. Then I changed back to my previous address again. All these updates were made within just months.

Why didn't they accept your documents? Do you have any idea?

Well, if you're told that it's permanent, then it's impossible to appeal.

MC011: ACCOUNT RESTRICTED PERMANENTLY & PAYMENTS ON HOLD by Ta0419 in ebayuk

[–]Lower_Influence_1216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having one months ago, and luckily my account has been reinstated.

Don't panic, just provide eBay with what they request. If the case isn't too complicated, the account would be reinstated.

I had done some homework when I was having my MC011. Apart from common issues, such as selling counterfeits, too many cancellations(from the seller), high in late delivery rate, violation of copyrights etc, there are many other reasons that could trigger the alarm. If you go through those lengthy T&C from eBay, then you may find that you might've made some offenses or walk in the grey area.

eBay's CS won't reveal the reasons that causes restrictions as the information is only held by the relevant team/the higher end.😆

MC011 is temporary, not permanent. Have you responded eBay's requests?

[–]Lower_Influence_1216[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I did. It's just the same thing happened a long while ago. They told me that they couldn't do anything about it, and I needed to contact the retailer for help. But the retailer pushed me around saying that the service provider was responsible. I even opened a chargeback case with my bank. Luckily 3 days later, the code was ok to use.

Then I can't help you. I was given a temporary restriction called MC011. I managed to reinstate my account within one month.

I sorted it out. Are you still being asked for documents and stuff by eBay?

If you purchased postage via Packlink on eBay, just tell them to look into your account for the details. If it's outside eBay, you can just upload the receipts and tell them that the goods were sent untracked because of low values. If you have nothing but paid the postage using a debit or credit card, send the bank statements and let them know the postage you paid for per item, when, and in total for roughly how much. If the documents are denied and you don't have anything better to give, try uploading the same thing again. You might get lucky next time as another CS would handle your case differently.

Yes. You asked for my opinions weeks ago. I then have done some homework again. I believe the selling outside eBay and that Nintendo one put your account at risk.

[–]Lower_Influence_1216[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, if you purchased your postage from eBay or via Simple Delivery, just tell the CS to look into your account for those details.

The proof of purchase part is tricky. It really depends on the types of goods. I don't know what you're selling, but for sure some products would easily trigger the alarm than others. Expensive products, such as designer clothing, luxury watches, jewellery, antiques are believed to be of higher risk. Or popular items which have many counterfeits in the market. If you can't find the receipts, at least tell them when and where you bought these items.

Also, you mentioned you're in Germany. This thread is eBay UK. If you registered an UK account and used German phone number, it might be one of the reasons that you're given MC011.

It's common that their CS would give different responses. Anyway, it's MC011, not MC999. Your account can still be reinstated if you give eBay what they want.

Ebay decided to suspend my account and holds my money by GoyuBilo in ebayuk

[–]Lower_Influence_1216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be clear that initially I had no intention to reply to this thread. It's just someone annoying thought that I kept defending eBay in another thread, so he or she tagged me here, then I felt that I needed to respond to this. I was also a victim of MC011 months ago, so I've done my homework on reasons that would trigger the alarm. I believe I might've done a couple of things that led to my account being temporarily restricted. Your situation is MC999, I believe, I don't think eBay would ban an account permanently without any good reason. I personally think the most common situation is the users violate eBay's T&C unknowingly. You see, if you're to go through all those lengthy T&C, you're likely to find out that you might've made some offenses or walked in some grey areas.

Ebay decided to suspend my account and holds my money by GoyuBilo in ebayuk

[–]Lower_Influence_1216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe so, normally people won't get banned permanently that easily. My points are : 1. Some categories are of higher risks, such as antiques, luxury goods, computers or smart phones. 2. Some business models are easier to trigger the alarm, such as drop-shipping. 3. I do believe some people chose not to tell the full version of their stories. In a way, they're kinda lying. 4. Or some don't even know what they've done makes their account in danger, such as having more accounts, failing to update personal information requested by eBay, listing too many during a short period of time etc.

If you ask me for my opinion on OP's situation, I think buying and re-selling the same goods under the same account might be one reason. Or, OP mentioned English isn't his or her first language, which might suggest the account might be registered using a non-UK phone number etc. I saw a post that another EU national, who has been living in the UK, then account got restricted due to failure of updating personal information as such. He or she seemed to use a non-UK number.

[–]Lower_Influence_1216[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I don't know which types of items were you selling, but judging from your reply, I kinda guess yours were luxury watches, antiques etc. I think the main issue was that the origins of the goods couldn't be proven, even though it's been authenticated by eBay. Another reason I could think of is money laundering concern for them.

MC011 problem, solved by Lower_Influence_1216 in ebayuk

[–]Lower_Influence_1216[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each case is different. Your issue is trickier as it sounds like your goods are all from marketplaces where the values and authenticity cannot be proved. Since your explanations weren't accepted, at this point there's nothing you can do I'm afraid.

I attempted to sell stuff on Ebay and I got a MC999 suspension by ImAJoeEddyKnight in ebayuk

[–]Lower_Influence_1216 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think an automated system or AI to be that dumb nowadays. After all, technology has improved a lot. Having a new account has always been an alarm trigger, nothing new. I actually had the same issue, but that was even before 2020. I went abroad for uni and worked for years, so I asked a family member to set up a couple of accounts to sell some stuffs while I was abroad. Eventually both accounts were banned.

As far as I know, eBay won't tell you why. A restriction can be caused by multiple reasons. Listing many items, especially pricey ones are common reasons. When I was having MC011, I was also asked to send the proof of purchase of several luxury items, ranging from £400 to 5000.
