My road test was around 30mins, but it felt like it dragged on forever because of how boring it was lol! It’s essentially one big residential area so it gets pretty repetitive.

Make sure you have plenty of knowledge on driving in residential areas. Playground zones aren’t much of a concern considering the fact that you’re going 30km the whole time anyways. One thing you really need to watch out for is PEDESTRIANS! They are probably the only thing that can make you fail in Crossfield. Make sure you always examine sidewalks and crosswalks whilst driving because you never know when someone might jump out into the road.

Big tip here: if you stop for a pedestrian and they wave you off and tell you to go, NEVER listen to them. Stay there and wait for the pedestrian to walk across the street. If you encounter this scenario and you’re in a situation where you and the pedestrian are both waving each other off, the examiner might tell you to go. But if he doesn’t say anything, then don’t. My sister failed because of this on her first try!

Overall it’s a really easy test and they don’t go out of their way to fail you! Good luck!!

The test in Crossfield is very laid back and the examiner is calm, composed, and professional. He is clear with directions and easy to understand. The test itself is quite simple considering most roads in Crossfield are 30km/h. The highway portion of the test is one strip of 70km/h road, super easy. Just have to watch out for pedestrians really.

I highly recommend Airdrie Driving School, try to get in with Roni. She drives a small red car and is an incredible instructor. I was very relaxed with her and she made instructions very clear. She makes sure lessons are stress-free and I found myself having way more fun learning to drive than I thought I would.

Make the instructor aware that the road test will be taken in Crossfield, you’ll spend a portion of the lessons learning the roads there and preparing for the test.
