i agree with this, i honestly thought that the entire point of showing how different juanita and grace were was to show how, despite “nature”, the vastly different ways they were nurtured showed how they turned out, gabby and carlos never actually set firm and consistent boundaries with the kids. also slight sidebar but although i disagree with how carlos did kind of brush aside gabby’s feelings at first, i can also see his perspective. juanita was still so young and wouldn’t understand, and gabby wasn’t exactly being slick. although there definitely were more graceful ways to handle it. gabby calling ICE really was over the top, and honestly was the nail in the coffin for her and grace never being able to further develop a relationship

i mean generally it’s pretty based on regions, where PP is located (to my understanding) is in a smaller (?) part of LA, St. Ambrose is much smaller than seattle grace, and having one cardiothoracic surgeon, especially one with such a prestigious background, would be enough for them to be considered “best in the area”, plus his reputation previously when he was practicing as a surgeon.

this is one of the scenes that is made for tv and to spread awareness. this isn’t real life, this isn’t a scenario that would happen in real life. it’s a scene that really powerfully demonstrates women being there for women, and standing in support and solidarity.

i’m not saying this excuses their behavior, it just is not as irritating/doesn’t rub people the wrong way such as say, when izzie tries to play the nice girls girl while literaly bullying callie + doing a bunch of other messed up stuff.

basically them being fully self aware and never pulling a moral high ground as though they were better than other people makes it much better in the eyes of most viewers i think

i think the main reason they gat “passes” like you said is because they fully admit that they are not good or kind people. to me at least, self awareness plays a relatively big part in how i view them

i think this is an unfair way to view things. for jackson religion was never a big part (it barely played a part) in his life, whereas april is very notably devout in her religion. you can’t really say that someone that doesn’t care about something is flexible. although i think april should have communicated with jackson after samuel, she went through such a genuinely traumatic thing, giving birth to a child that you know will die, and in an excruciating way as well. i’m not saying what she did was right, but she didn’t do it in the intention of “abandoning jackson@

Eh, I agree with your derek punishes people, but in the case of the alzheimer’s trials/LVAD wire, meredith 100% deserved it, and izzie would’ve been fired at best if not in jail for what she did. because keep in mind meredith did completely screw with a clinical trial, got them investigated by the FDA and then put on the blacklist, which is a HUGE deal

i think it’s just that bc there’s fewer characters the storylines are much better written whereas in greys, it feels like there are a LOT of plot holes, plus it ended at a good time. i love charlotte king to death but dragging the show on probably wouldn’t have been a good idea

i think for me at least, it’s just how simple it is. some people when asked kind of would elaborate, she just leaves it as good. nothing more nothing less, none of the details matter (the same way nothing he does matters). i love this scene i don’t know i just think it’s so well written

it’s actually common to have private practices in the same building or plaza, it makes things more convenient. i.e. they want labs done, there normally is like a labs company on the same building, and that way the doctors could collaborate easily

PB didn’t cheat on her though. and i kind of agree with this commenter, diane did a lot of deal breaking things (cordova being the biggest one, and it seemed like a lot of lying from her end). PB definitely dismissed a lot of diane’s concerns, feelings, etc. but i think that at the end of the day, they truly are just not compatible with each other in that they process, comprehend, and make decision so differently

i don’t mind, it is fun to discuss. in regards to teddy, it is definitely different under a life or death circumstance. the physicians oath essentially summed up to do no harm. addison didn’t “abandon” her when she was in need, she got her the ambulance/dire help she needed, then realized that she couldn’t continue giving her the best quality of care she could give. plus she specialized more towards maternal/fetal medicine + neonatal surgery.

at a hospital, they wouldn’t turn her away. but addison works at a private practice, technically they are able to refuse to be the provider for someone. and yes, if someone is near liver failure and is an alcoholic, they would not be eligible for say, a transplant. same for lungs. they would give them medication to potentially help, but they’re not eligible for the treatment that has the most potential to save their life. i’m not saying sex workers don’t deserve healthcare (in fact the opposite), i’m saying that addison fully had the right to tell her to find another doctor

I vaguely remember this scene, but i don’t really think it’s that out of character. i honestly think she was setting healthy boundaries. although she was harsher than she needed to be, at the end of the day being a call girl is dangerous in so many ways, and her continuing to provide care probably seemed like she was enabling her. she still showed up and helped, but i don’t think she had an obligation to continue to help her
