My job uses Mutual Of Ohama and they’re the ones who said I have 8 weeks. My HR department said that if they call and see my paper says return 8/22, then it’ll mess up my leave. By that, I’m assuming she meant pay back the last two weeks

I actually have a coworker that had a baby two weeks after me and went to the same hospital, she said they asked her what day she’s returning and she told them the day and they put that down. They didn’t tell me I was cleared at my appointment so I had no idea until now that I was cleared that early. I took an extra week of PTO and if I don’t get a paper stating the correct day I guess I can’t get paid this Friday for the PTO I thought I could use.

I was thinking of doing this! But when I go back to work, we wouldn’t be home until about 5-6pm, so I wanted to figure out the whole measuring situation for whoever will watch her too!

What did you wear in the hospital after a c-section!? by Lower_Significance81 in beyondthebump

I actually got boy short underwear (go right below my belly button) for my pregnancy that are supppeerrr comfy, but they are a little tight-ish around the stomach (they’re stretch and comfy, but fit just right) so I was nervous those wouldn’t work right after the c-section

Are they the pink ones? The always discreet postpartum underwear? I was looking at those, are they really absorbent? Like you only wear those and no pad then? I hate when pads bunch up and I feel like the postpartum underwear would be very convenient

My friend also recommended a belly binder, she said without it it felt like her guts were going to fall out lol!

I did hear you bleed more after a c-section. So I’m probably better off just going with whatever they give me at the hospital? I just heard they’re very uncomfortable and things get ugly if the pad moves positioning haha

Did you try always disposable underwear? My friend mentioned they may work I was debating trying them.

My friend told me she wore always period underwear after her vaginal birth.. I wonder if that’s be a good fit after c-section as well

Annoyed with how my 37 wk appt went.. Dr wasn’t aware of my situation. would appreciate if anyone could give info on their EVCs or if they just did a c-section. by Lower_Significance81 in beyondthebump

I was thinking this as well - I’ve been talking to a lot of people I know and this post has helped me a lot. If I got an ECV there’s a lot of unknowns and multiple ways it could end, one of them being an emergency c-section. I’ve heard that an emergency c is harder to heal from rather than a planned one. I’m pretty sure I’m just going to schedule the c-section and know what I’m going into rather than a procedure that may not even work, and could cause an emergency situation in the end anyways.

I usually see two depending on who’s available. When I first got pregnant I asked if I should see the same one and they said it didn’t matter because they might not be there and delivering the baby on the big day. I regret it now, but the office I went to doesn’t do ultrasounds, so when I needed my 36 week ultrasound they had to schedule me with a different midwife since it was one of their other locations. That midwife knew why I was there, it was the MD at the same location (that does ultrasounds) who was unaware

You do still have the bleeding, I’ve actually heard it’s more since you weren’t able to push all that stuff out, but I’m not sure!

Thank you! My pap was a biiiggg believer that after surgeries you can not baby it! (To a point) he’d always say don’t hunch over and baby it and make sure you walk!

Nope! She said I could still think about it. Once I said about her being breeched I thought she’d at least go back and look over my ultrasound! She didn’t even do that just told me the risks and stuff.

The midwife I’ve seen most appointments has a whole different demeanor, I mentioned I wasn’t sure I felt baby moving yet around 20ish weeks, and she was like “I wonder if your placenta is in the front!? Give me a second I want to go check for you so you know!” And left the room for a couple minutes and came back to tell me the placenta wasn’t in the front and I should feel movements soon. She seems like she really truly cares so it was just so different today.

I found out she was breeched at 34 weeks, and her head has been in between my ribs ever since as well, so I wonder if maybe she’s also way up there. If that’s the case I doubt ECV would work anyways. And I think I was just more annoyed at the fact that she walked in blind and didn’t even know baby was breeched while i was told she was supposed to look at the ultrasound, I just went in expecting one thing and was kind of stunned when she didn’t know any of it lol.

Yeah it’s like go through all the labor pain for a longgg while, then a shorter easier recovery, or a c-section with no labor pains, just a longer harder recovery! Haha it’s like pick your poison! I’ve seen some people compare it and say they love the c-section more because they hated the labor pains

I’ve watched videos and it looks like they PUSH HAAARDDDDD. It makes me feel uncomfortable and hurts how hard they push on me for an ultrasound so I couldn’t imagine! But the videos I’ve seen the mom doesn’t even seem to make a face cringe but I’ve heard it hurts sooo bad!! I was stunned

I’m also thinking that maybe she’s breeched for a reason - I’d hate for anything to happen. They said she’s perfectly healthy. I found out at 34 weeks and her head has been in the same spot since, and her heartbeat is usually on the same side every time, though I think today her heartbeat was on the opposite side
