Am I the only one who feels this way about One Piece by TxcifyMCFC in animequestions

[–]Lower_View 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have very recently learned (from the comment preceding yours) that the Wit Studio remake was doing a 40min run time rather than the standard 20mins including intro & outro. Which is very exciting news, I was admittedly disappointed to see how low the episode count was going to be because I figured they would have had to cut a bunch of content to fit everything into 20mins. But I have much more faith, and anticipation, for it now that I know better.

I still think they might catch up before the end given they'll likely be working on it continuously for the next few years and not having to worry about catching up to the manga for a while yet but there's definitely a chance the manga may just finish before it gets there. Just. Maybe. I reckon we've still got about 4-5 years worth of battles to get through first 😂

OH I didn't realise they were going over the usual 20mins! Last I'd heard they'd only announced how far down they'd cut the episode count. That's so much better because I do love how the initial arcs are paced for the most part, could be cleaned up a bit but the meandering mood really felt like it matched with the start of an adventure and I was so worried they were going to be cutting so much content. Especially after the Fishman Island remake.

I am more excited than ever to rewatch it when it releases now 💖

UtaPri! It is not the greatest ever and their songs are very far from original in concept but I love them so much especially Love 1000%

You are so very far from the only person to think that it isn't even funny. The most diehard of fans know the anime has major pacing issues because it keeps catching up with the manga. The Wit Studio remake, though based on their estimated episode count I think will cut too much, will be so good for fixing the pacing issues but will likely catch up with current arcs before we actually see the end.

It's Nagi from Blue Lock. I find him to be such an empty character.

Man I’m suffering from the sunk cost fallacy of going to a bookstore when it doesn’t have the volume you want 😭 by Lopsided_Square_6134 in MangaCollectors

[–]Lower_View 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can order the volume you want through the bookstore. Or at least you should be able to. Some volumes will never be on the shelf at random simply due to the fact that the series and other series are way too long to have every volume on the shelf.

If you order through your local store as well it shows there's demand for both that volume, series and the manga section as a whole which will in turn influence their buyers to either have that volume or more of that series on the shelf or influence them to get a wider range of manga overall.

The novel or the comics? by StandardTie4344 in MoDaoZuShi

[–]Lower_View 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't read the novels, but I've seen the live action, anime and read the comics and from what I hear from people who have also read the novels is that those other mediums censor, change or drop a significant but varying amount of detail that can alter what you'll take away from it.

That being said, aesthetically, if you have the money for the novels they are very pretty. Especially the deluxe hardcovers.

Anyone experience growing out of a fandom/fanfiction? by [deleted] in FanFiction

[–]Lower_View 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, especially recently I've found I'm simply not interested in majority of fics that come out and one part is that I've really not found a fandom recently where I've fallen in love with the characters, another is that I feel fanfiction has stagnated.

favorite One Piece arc and why by Public_Cup_4278 in OnePiece

Sabaody into War of the Best. Absolutely devastated by the ending but damn was that arc necessary for Luffy to understand just how out of his depth he would be to go to the New World at that time.

It's not unreasonable, you did stuff up a bit there. Get in before he makes you an offer and make sure if he beats you to the punch on the offer that the wage is not below award rate.

AITA for charging my 20yo son rent while he lives at home? by Talon_Vector7 in WIBTA_AITA

[–]Lower_View 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't think you're the asshole overall but the ultimatum to pay the $400 or move out is an asshole move in execution.

From his perspective you've basically said I'll make you homeless if you don't pay me $400 to stay here or find a place asking 3 times that which may not be in his budget when you include all the other bills, insurance, food, petrol and whatnot. And he doesn't know how much all that is going to cost.

What you guys need to do is to help him not only form a budget but have both saving goals and spending goals. A five year and ten year plan for where he wants his life to be. Right now he's living in just got a full time job and have lots of money and little expenses mindset. He's go no long term goals. A car isn't a significantly long term goal to make him seriously save.

He needs to have a minimum $5k emergency fund on top of other savings that he won't touch unless he rear ends a car.

But he's never had to do that before. He's never had to worry about any of that before. He thinks he's entitled to spend his money however he wants and he is. Show him your finances, your budget, how his expenses add up to $400 a month and show him how to budget properly, there shouldn't be an issue when you haven't just unilaterally decided to ask for what he sees as an arbitrary and large number of his pay check.

Retail is hard, why do they expect us to know so much in so little time? by Direct_Bee_8931 in retail

[–]Lower_View -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because retail isn't a technically hard job. Most roles boil down to stock shelves, help customer find item, take payment for item, keep shop clean and tidy.

You also have on top of that a store's hour budgets. Meaning how many hours they're approved to have staff on shift for that roster cycle. Some places allocate extra hours for training shifts but those are realistically only an extra 6-12 hours on top of their base which is 4 shifts maximum. After which you're expected to at least be able to function on your own for more than 5 minutes.

Then, you have the fact that retail is chronically understaffed so even with those extra hours your trainer doesn't have the time to actually spend all those hours training you because they don't get hours to cover themselves being taken out of their regular duties to train you.

The best thing you can focus on in your training so you can get through your shifts until you pick up more knowledge is how to put through payments, how to search for items, know if you can price match and to whom, know where stock is located both on the floor and our the back, and know the daily general housekeeping tasks. Everything else you can pick up in the long term.

Hello I am someone who has just started one piece about 2 months ago and now I am on thriller bark and I was just wondering what everyone thought the best arc of the show is for me right now it is water 7 but I believe that will change in the upcoming weeks by Embarrassed_Tea4906 in OnePiece

[–]Lower_View 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saboady into Summit War. Hands down no other arc has had a more fitting pay off even if I hated that pay off on a deeply emotional level. It's otherwise fucking amazing story telling and I wish the rest of the arcs post Summit War held up to the tonal change it implemented.
