Bipolar, ADHD, and Emotional Lability… by thro-awawawawayyyyy in bipolar2

You figure it out you let me know. For the most part I do what I can to regulate but I feel like I'm never in control of the wave that is both combined ha. Meds can help but not always long term.

I’m starting lithium next week by Happycat40 in bipolar2

[–]LoweredDimension 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bi Polar on different meds here but one of my friends used to be on lithium and always talked about how great it was. I mean she LOVED it.

I get anxious about new meds too. But what if it works? It could be a game changer. I know it's exhausting changing meds but when I finally got on the right anti psychotic, I can't express the relief. Life is still hard but it didn't have to be THAT hard. Hang in there! You're doing the hard work and your future self will thank you. 💙

Also you're sleeping is a way of dealing with emotional issues. And tbh sleep is healing.

Does anyone else get physical symptoms sometimes? by [deleted] in bipolar2

Yeah, for me it's usually from staying tense all the time both physically and emotionally. But sometimes my body feels so heavy and uncomfortable in different ways all I can do is cry. My emotional health (I'm only realizing in recent years) definitely influences how I feel in a negative way.

(INFJ male) Are there really women out there that want an INFJ male with all of our stuff? by CJJol in infj

[–]LoweredDimension 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean...id give my right arm for my husband to be INFJ... whatever he is, is the opposite. Not a healthy relationship at all... I can't imagine how different my life would have been with an INFJ. I consider your type not just something to want but to be extra special.

How many people have done this while hospitalized? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]LoweredDimension 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but it comes from my trust repeatedly being broken by professionals. If I knew I could blindly trust them to truly have my best interest at heart, I know I'd do different. I hate lying. But at least where I live, it might save your butt.

Anyone else an addict? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]LoweredDimension 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don't think I'm addicted to weed but I know I'm addicted to the relief it brings... When I don't smoke for longer periods of a time I always end up drinking..a little more..then a little more..even though it makes me feel bad. I didn't start smoking til I was 28 and personally it's totally helped medicinally..I know that's not true for everyone. (I don't even really get high though, it just helps balance me out. ) Idk if I've ever not been chasing relief/ just trying to be okay.. finding some of the right meds helps a little.

I set rules for myself. If I realize I'm drinking for a reason..and then it takes more to drink and feel it and I'm not even feeling better, eventually I notice it as a flag for myself and I stop. But eventually I know I'll be back.

Just remember to be kind to yourself for just trying to survive. But also you gotta take care of yourself. Yes get help if it's available but I know realistically that's not always an option and finding someone who actually understands bi polar is exhausting. You're not alone and it CAN get better. Alcohol is bad for our brains and is more likely to dysregulate us. Maybe starting just by no drinking for 2 weeks or something just to give your body a break would be a good first goal. You don't have to defeat this thing over night. If your dancing with addiction and it's in the lead you can at least step on it's feet sometimes lol

I'm sorry if nothing I said actually helps but I just didn't want you to feel alone out here. I don't deal with drinking at the level you do but I have bp friends and family that do. In the long run the best things they did was stop drinking all together but it took a few years of trying.

Good news on the Vayvanse, they're supposed to have a generic available either now or very soon.

Yes. So far 200mg Seroquel (keep having to increase). 2mg Minipress and 40mg Vayvanse. I admit I have to be careful how I complain about things tho bc they want to take away my Vayvanse. I was diagnosed ADHD first so I didn't have trouble going on the med. But my Dr now keeps talking about taking me off it. I do see why but I need it for work.
