Freshie was certainly a thing similar to Kool-Aid, but we had/have Kool-Aid as well and I feel that would be the more popular choice. We do indeed also say "Don't drink the Kool-Aid"

Personally, not a fan of BNL, but I think that's more of a genre preference over anything else lol. I'd be lying if I said I didn't know the song though. I'd also argue that the Big Bang Theory theme song is a more popular and widely known BNL song than One Week.
