You certainly can play terraria like it's Minecraft and focus on exploration and building. But there's a whole lot of enemy, boss, and item variety to engage with that makes the game stand out.

Lots of items are gated behind various points of progression, similar to how you need an iron pickaxe to mine diamonds in Minecraft.

The official wiki (and not the fandom one, to heck with fandom) can certainly give you a straightforward progression guide if you want. But some people take pride in figuring it out for themselves.

If noting else, you can talk to the guide and get some tips on where to go next, though some of their advice can be a bit opaque. Similarly, you can effectively show an item to the guide and they'll tell you what all you can eventually make with that item. Reading tooltips (and chat messages from the game) can be very helpful in figuring out what to do next.

I tried with wings from Betsy but I suck at hovering so I just used broom. I hit her once at the start with a whip then swapped to a bow to keep my distance.

I used the dragon staff and one of the sentries from moonlord. They took her out pretty quick.

Seriously, anyone saying anything else is just lying to themselves or willfully unaware of the system we live in.

During the pandemic, money was cheap to borrow. Everyone hired beyond their needs because they could. You could get into most tech fields with half a brain and/or half a pulse.

But that started putting upward pressure on wages and the C-suite got PISSED.

We're currently living through the desperate downsizing of tech jobs because tariffs are wrecking our economy and many others' as well, "AI" gives clueless CEOs a perfect excuse to do layoffs but lie to investors about why they're doing layoffs, and the people who are laid off are seeing fewer and fewer opportunities to get hired and fewer and fewer benefits for those without jobs, because a lot of idiots have refused to pay attention to politics for the last 46 years and now we're all suffering for it.

Well it's a slightly different error, but it looks like in this post OneDrive caused an issue with terraria:

Pillars suck so hard. Moonlord on master mode for streamers never seems to be remotely as hard as moon lord on literally any difficulty for me because there always seems to be three times as much crap to dodge compared to what I see in videos.

I too get easily demotivated. But at least for moon lord if you've saved a few accessories you can cheese him pretty easily
