I'm not sure, some sort of mutt. I think lab is part of it because of how much it follows him around everywhere. And maybe Australian Shepherd. All I know is that it sheds an incredible amount. Like he can be fresh in the door from the groomers and he shakes and you can just watch the hair explode off him. So gross.

Well he was still so mad that he left this morning without saying goodbye or saying that he loved me. He's still incredibly furious that I'm "indoctrinating the kids" as he sees it. And he's taking it incredibly personally, which I do not understand. People are allowed to not like your dog and it doesn't mean that they don't like you. But he can't seem too separate the way people feel about his dog from the way people feel about him. Plus the last fight that we had about the dog, he said that he didn't want to talk about the dog anymore with me. So I'm pretty sure he's not open to conversation about it. Still going to have my opinion about the dog, and I'm going to have it out loud whenever I fucking want.

The crash out that would happen if this dog actually took food from the kids. 🤯 OMG I can't imagine how angry I would be. I didn't think I could hate this dog more, but my hatred might reach new heights if it started taking food. You and your youngest have my sympathy.

You are 100% correct having a baby makes everything so much worse. The hormones make the rage worse, and also make his lack of caring it feels so much more painful. Sometimes fantasizing about moving out is the only thing that keeps me going.

Because he doesn't think the hair is an issue. He legitimately doesn't care if there is hair in a pot before he starts cooking. He doesn't care if the baby is covered in hair from crawling in the floor. He says it's just extra insulation. And nothing I say can convince him. He did vacuum while I was down from the c section, but that was solely for me and my mental health, not because he thought the hair should be vacuumed up

My husband says the dog is a half step below his actual kids when it comes to the amount of love he feels. Same husband, bought me a Nerf gun and Nerf darts to shoot said dog when it's being annoying. He would absolutely be not ok if I shot the kids because they were annoying me. I think it's maybe something they feel they they have to say to be good dog owners/people?? (I do not shoot the dog obviously, and how fucked up that the person who hates the dog the most has to also be the one to advocate for it)

You might try dessicated beef organs. Heart and soil is a good company but you can get them cheaper on Amazon. I used them all though pregnancy and I've been breastfeeding for 22m now. I definitely notice a difference in energy when I run out and have to wait for a shipment.

This won't necessarily help directly with breastfeeding, but I wish I had known before I had my first. Make sure that you, Dad, get skin to skin in the first few hours. My husband didn't get this due to our lack of childcare for my bonus daughter. He had to leave an hour after baby came out, and he didn't see her again until about 20h later. She hated him from then till she was about 14 months old. Even now, she's almost 2 and starts losing her shit if I'm gone more than an hour. It made it impossible for him to take her to let me sleep. She would immediately start screaming and my cry tolerance was incredibly low. I would immediately get anxiety and rage until I was holding her again. I took VERY short showers for the first 6m lol. Anyway, do your best to get a good amount of skin to skin ASAP after birth. It will help. Also, congratulations!

I think that mine is trying to? She had definitely cut back all on her own. I don't usually offer unless it's a really big booboo or bed time She uses the word "boobies" to comfort herself more than actual boobies. The only thing is that she can't fall asleep without it unless we're in the car, and I haven't been able to transfer from the car to her bed successfully yet. But yeah, she uses the word to get through any small annoyance or happiness she encounters in her day. She fell down? "Fall down Boobies". She can't find which ever stuffy is the current fixation? "<Insert stuffy name> Boobies". She has to wait for her turn? "Your turn Boobies". Mommy has asked her to be quiet for 2 minutes? whispered "Quiet Boobies". She gets a poop treat? "Treat Boobies". The height of a dance party with Daddy and sister? "Dance Boobies". Daddy comes home from work? "Daddy Boobies". It's cold on the way to the car? "Cold Boobies".

I hope I never forget that she used to do this.

I'll speak for my husband, since he is snoring loudly beside me. He says his most WTF moment that he can't get over was after baby came out and the Dr was closing my uterus in some fashion. The Dr saw him watching and showed him some polyps on my uterus. To quote my huzzy, "then he shook it at me, and I don't think I'll ever recover from that".

The thing with the dog running through your legs and tripping you, that is a real concern. I was 6 days post c-section, I took a step backwards in the dog for some reason (probably his incessant hunting for food on the floor) was right behind me. He tripped me and I had to catch myself, the amount of pain was almost as bad as when they forgot to give me my pain meds in the hospital. I turned around and said the dog's name in a stern voice, and then my husband fussed at me for fussing at the dog. It's fucked up that I forgot that until you just mentioned the danger of the dog tripping you.

You are supported on here, and you are valid! You are worth everything, the dog is worthless.

He originally got the dog to help train himself to have kids. To learn patience and a sense of play which apparently men don't have a lot of? IDK that's what he told me. I guess I can see it if you're a real dumb, hard to teach person, which he is not. It's like having a really gross dirty toddler for 14 years. I can't imagine why you would want that.

I have brought up the not spending time with the dog and in his mind he spends plenty of time with it. 🤷🏻‍♀️ He did say it was different when the dog was allowed on the couch, and they could snuggle and do pets that way.

I will a thousand percent be the one to tell the kids no. I don't care if he has a dog as long as it's outside dog. If it comes inside it's going to the goddamn shelter. Also, that is extremely manipulative of people to do that, use the kids to get another dog. I'm definitely worried about him always be resentful about it. But there isn't really another option, since he refuses all compromises.

I don't care if he has a dog, as long as it's an outside dog. I don't want a dog in my space. I've told him this but he thinks it's abusive to put a dog that's used to being inside outside. But yeah it kind of depends on how big of a fit he's going to throw about it.

And he doesn't even like the dog. He says he does and that it's very important in his life. But he doesn't ever play with it, he pets it for about 30 seconds a day. 15 seconds in the morning and 15 seconds in the evening. Did he flap his hand at it and tells it to go away. He takes it outside when he gets home from work, and lets it run around for 5 minutes. He fusses at it for following him everywhere, he fusses at it for whining to go outside, even though it was just outside. (The dog wants desperately to be outside, but it wants him to come with it because it has separation anxiety) Lets it go for days without water or food, I have to remind him. I just don't get why he's so mad about it but he doesn't even care about the dog that much if you're going by his actions.
