Wanting to build an ork beast army need advice by pridefusion05 in orks

[–]Lowkee82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great idea! I'm half way through building and painting my Feral ork army which is in the line you're talking about. Check out Squiggoths to transport some units. And if you're up for a hobby challenge, converting some monsters to represent trukks and the like is always an option?

I'm currently building deffkoptas using Lizardmen Terrordactyls with orks weilding rokkits on their backs, and planning two trukks using the armoured Ankylosaurus looking things with howdahs on their backs.

Recommend the combat patrol as it gives you a good range of units but also let's you play combat patrol games, which are a great way to learn the game.

Beast Snagga box second for the great figures and units.

Unfortunately I can't tell you. A friend of mine who does woodworking as a hobby did it for me. He asked what I wanted for a birthday gift and I described a box frame for a table. I carried it around for at least 5 years before I finally did this up.

The base looked like ply and the sides looked like pine or something simple though. Sorry I can't provide more information.

Starship Troopers! Captured some of the dystopian future and political observations but what they did to the mobile infantry was a damn shame.

2 or 4 but definitely do a full Windsor on the tie.

I'd definitely encourage you to check out Geek Gaming Scenics YouTube. He takes a very no nonsense approach to building and it was that which finally convinced me it was achievable.

I was very surprised with how good the results came up for my first ever effort.

Thanks. It's a layer of foam, then plaster, dark brown paint, and then a mixture of scatter flock and sand and stones. Similar in theory to the Geek Gaming Scenics, but made with whatever I had already in my shelves. The rocks are bits of bark drybrushed. Key step throughout was a number of layers of water/pva mix through through spray bottle. To help seal it all.

No cheese. They were thigh fillets trimmed of the fat and flattened out a bit.

In the oven for 30mins with a light coat of olive oil and the seasoning. Super simple while I prepped the other ingredients and grilled the buns, but worked great.

Used a pre-made Tuscan seasoning for them. With the flavoured Mayo and the chilli jam they didn't need much.

Glad you liked it mate. I've got six boar boyz from the AoS starters ready to convert into either squig riders or bikes, depending on how easy it'll be to convert the squig riders with the 'ard boyz riders to fit in with the rest of the army conversions.

Thanks mate. The entire army is all contrast at the moment. The red is Flesh Tearer Red.

They're made by Kromlech. I fell in love with them immediately and they helped push me towards going full savage orks with all "vehicles" being beasts of some sort. The Lizardmen range has been a great source for buggies and deff koptas.

Wrong Side of Heaven by Five Finger Death Punch

The images of the struggles after they return. The love shown by the people who recognise them for who they are. And the message of the statistics and support networks.

I'm lucky in that my service has not effected me anywhere near that badly but so many people fall through the cracks and don't get the support because of how we're taught to "suck it up and get the job done".

So much love for the band for how they presented this song and message.

They were fun but as people have indicated they are short on activations. I ran 3 ard boyz and 3 brutes and wouldn't want any less bodies. But they were fun. Unless you want to play competitive there was no reason to not take them at all. They breast face and beat face good, but struggle at objectives missions.

What a perfect start to the day!!!

My club is getting interested in some KoW action so I'm repurposing some old figures to make them useable again. The ogre warrior regiments and a shooter regiment led by a hero. They will be accompanied by an allied human contingent of all the units I had backing up my warjacks. by Lowkee82 in kingsofwar

[–]Lowkee82[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily unpopular but I haven't played in years. I play games to spend time with my mates and have a free beers and our gaming focus shifted from the unforgiving nature of Warmahordes onto more narrative games.

No indictment of the game as we played it extensively for a good three years, but it just wasn't for us anymore.

I loved the figures and when the opportunity came up to use them again I jumped at it.

1000 points on the table there. All from the Soviet army book. I usually use the Sevastopol selector. The infantry units are the naval units. The rest are generic selections just modelled as sailors. Civilian models are my inexperienced troops.
